On Ingram I've always marveled at how a player becomes a long snapper. I guess it beats working at Home Depot or McDonalds. Does a dad decide to bring their kid to snapping school and snapping academies for them to become a long snapper. I can see it now ... somebody opening a long snapper football camp ... $285,000 for 1st year players ... start snapping kiddies. No serious size or weight needed so could a woman become an NFL long snapper?

Holly Mangold ... Nick's sister should have learned to do this ... could have been an NFL first.

In every industry there are independent experts who don't do, they forecast and critique. Kiper is one of a couple in the NFL draft sphere.

Don't like him? Ignore him. I didn't watch any of the ESPN coverage of the draft, and did fine. Enjoy him? Good, I'm sure he can be entertaining.

He probably can rate the drafts of each of the teams a lot better than I can, because he does this as a full-time job and has done the same thing for years. He's independent, not associated with any one team, where I am not.

Objectively, looking at the statistics and performance, the Patriots under Belichick have drafted about as well as the league average, better in the first, a bit worse in the second, and around league average after that. As fans, we can get excited about the potential of our draft, as can any fan in the offseason.

If an 11-win team gets a B+ in the draft from an independent expert, and is regarded as having an excellent offseason in free agency, that sounds good to me.

The only grade that matters will be given based on what happens between the lines over the next two or three seasons, so put your hair back in its net and wait until next year to annoy us again, Mel. That said, any grade at this point is a matter of the curve. I'm not sure I'd have given any team an "A" this year.
