Okay Brad, if that makes you feel better about yourself, you just go on and believe it.
See, I thought the Vikings would take Harvin, and I'm not as expert in this as Belichick. If some relative nobody on a message board could figure it out, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that BB probably had a notion that it could happen.

Nope. I really doubt that. Patrick Chung was our target. D was a huge priority in this year's draft. We took 3 defensive picks in a row to get it started. We get someone who may be as talented as Harvin with a bit of an MJ issue in round 3. That's much better value than Harvin in round 1. From what I've heard Harvin has some TO ego type issues in addition to the drugs.

It's especially frustrating seeing as how badly we are struggling at WR right now. Then again, if we had Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosencopter it would have merely been a luxury addition for us.

I liked this comment:

Quote:
Don't know where you get your stats but according to ESPN "Rand Moss with 4.25 speed in the 40 and a 39-inch vertical leap." But I do laugh at the idiots out there compairing Percy to The Freak. If Harvin and Moss had a 100 yard race Moss would leave him 20 yards behind. Laughing all the way. You are correct about Harvin being a gimmick player and Chilly will not have a clue how to use him.
And this one:

Quote:
God I hope nobody outside this state reads this article. Makes us look like bush league idiots. Want to know why the rest of the nation cracks on us for our intelligence and naivity? Why Hollywood makes movies like Fargo? Because of the moronic drivel spewed by Sid, Chilly, and a large number of my fellow fans. How amateur is it that our goals revolve around outsmarting Belichek (an AFC coach) and winning a "division title". Yep. I'm willing to bet the Pats organization wishes they could be just like us. They need to start by throwing away their championships then. As for the cat and mouse game, there was an article on the Trib site just last week stating that Professor Chilly was visiting this dope-head. The only team to show their hand worse was Detroit, and that's because they owned the top pick and signed Stafford before the draft. God Chilly is an idiot. Harvin would have fallen to the 2nd round (most likely to us) and my guess is that Reid and Belichick baited Chilly into a reach. dumb dumb dumb. And we are idiots for constantly eating this crap.

As talented as Harvin? Tate? Not a chance in Hell. Tate was a kick returner in college, he didn't even start at WR.

I think it all started there. I'm not sure who the player was, or whether it had to do with an oral agreement to make a trade, etc. Anyone remember?

WHa? Wha?

Tate was their best starting receiver. He was considered the go-to guy. Better than Hakeem Nicks. He was featured early in the season as the big threat on that team.

I'd rather have Tate for a 3rd than expend a 1st round pick on Harvin. With guys like Moss, Welker, and Galloway as the Pats starting WR trio, getting a versatile and talented young WR who can also return kicks for DEPTH is a better fit than expending a 1st round pick on a guy who does nothing to improve the Pats defense. And Tate WAS considered a very good WR prospect until he came down with injury in his senior season.

And I'm not even going to get into the Florida WR bust pattern, since I'm sure that doesn't factor into your evaluation of Harvin. To me Harvin isn't even really a receiver, he's a poor man's Reggie Bush and should be used in the manner that the Saints use Bush.

With his 16 receptions for 376 yards as a senior? OR his 25 receptions for 475 yards as a junior?

Before getting hurt Tate averaged 75.2 YPG receiving. Harvin (in the games he played) averaged 58.5. Harvin had all his running too, but you're talking about receiving here. Of course I would take Harvin over Tate given the ACL injury but I like Tate in the 3rd over Harvin in the 1st and if Tate hadn't hurt his ACL there's a really good chance he'd have been drafted ahead of Harvin.
