Jason Taylor would solve this issue. Awhile back Mort did say it was either us or the LOLphins. Maybe that's why we didnt draft any OLBs.

I think we get JT - I really do

Then perhaps we go back to OLB in next years draft .. BB obviously valued Safety/DT as key needs in this years draft and addressed it with their first pick. Perhaps next year its OL or OLB

3 seconds next year once again gives us plenty of ammo and I have no idea if he perhaps values next years OLB class higher in terms of best fit for the Pats

the headline was invented after reading the invented headline about crable being in the doghouse. first i vomited..as i had seen BB press conference...then thought whether to give my opinion in SMY's thread . took a step back and thought to start a new thread...without critisizing smy.

seems what BB said was closer to praising then being in the doghouse.

Now that you've calmed down look at your headline and realize how silly it is.

*Headsmack* For the last time... Woods is our starter. We have been grooming him for this role for 4 years. The ONLY player that MIGHT have disrupted this plan was Peppers. At that was only going to happen if he wanted to play for nothing, and the Panthers were willing to trade him for almost nothing.

I think that BB must really be confident in the LB's on the roster. I see a lot of posts that are very critical that he passed on a bunch of prospects. For me, I just have to trust him on this as I am not with them every day and don't have the ability to assess players like he does.

but from the outside, I think that he has built a very solid front 7 on D.

Agreed. I think BB really likes Woods and he was starting to look pretty good last year before he got banged up....I think just because he's not a superstar people put him down but he knows the system, has the tools and should be in prime condition come TC/Preseason

"I think that there were more shorter players, maybe a little less speed than what we’ve seen, maybe a little more power with good production. There weren’t a lot of 4.6, 4.65 [40 time] guys. There weren’t a lot of 6-[foot]-4, 6-[foot]-5 guys. I’d say it was a much smaller pool of those types of players."

he likes tall olb's and fast...traits this years draft class was lackiing. all 6'1 to 6'2. woods, redd and crable all 6'5 or over, with at least 4.65 speed. seems like this is a major reason why he passed over all the olbs and de's. only barwin was even close at 6'3 5/8 and fast. he already has 2 better physical specimens though in Redd and Crable, who have been in the system for 1 year already. and they were chosen in the the 3rd and i think redd was a FA.
now why would he use a 1st or 2nd round pick on Barwin or cushing? crable ran 4'64 at the combine and redd 4'56 at his pro day.
I kept saying that 6'1 1/2" Everette Brown and 6'2" Larry English didn't have enough length for BB. That was one of the reasons I liked Barwin - good length and speed with long arms and TE agility. I'm still betting that BB liked Barwin the best of the OLB candidates, he just didn't see the position as much of a need and wanted to prioritize the secondary. If he had prioritized LB over the secondary then I could easily have seen him taking Barwin at 41 over Butler.

I think people were a little deceived about the length thing because Adalius Thomas is 6'2", but Thomas is a bit of an exception because of his extraorindary size/speed and his ability to play SILB as well. Same thing a bit with Vrabel. But I think BB clearly likes length and speed in his OLBs.

Cool Re: BB praises his OLB'S (CRABLE, REDD, WOODS)

Inches are irrelevant in player production.
It's obvious BB like size on the line BUT-
whether its RB's or OLB's being discussed....
the inch and pound issue is week and simply a F-ing NUMBER-OK?

I don't need to give player examples and people that have played or have a knowledge of the game understand this-6-4 or 5-10-Ive seen 5-10 smoke 6-4 and he has a longer reach also I've seen a 180 lb Safety knock the sh&^t out of a 230lb back.....

stats are for fantasy nerds and slave traders
