It was also here:

Official New England Patriots - History - Anniversary Teams

Just without the Ret., SpT, and Coach positions. Not sure if those are original for 1960, especially considering the Ret. and SpT positions are duplicates.

Good list. I might go with Tony Romeo at tight end, but no other suggestions.

By the way, I'm almost sure this entry read that Antwine was voted the all time Patriots MVP in 1971. If anyone has a 1971 media guide, please let me know.

Seven-time AFL All-Star selection who capped great performances of the '60s with selection to the All-Time AFL All-League team ... "Twine" is especially devastating against the run ... was double and triple teamed throughout his career ... tremendous strength and balance ... was NAIA heavyweight wrestling champion ... Pats' defensive captain and player representative ... always a leader ... has played ten seasons with Patriots ... slowed as a rookie due to College All-Star Game injury ... started with Pats as offensive guard but switched to defense the same year ('61) ... Twine and Jim Hunt have played together longer than any pair of tackles in pro football ... named Pats MVP in poll of Foxboro fans last year ... has a habit of destroying training camp tackling dummies ... native of Memphis, Tenn. ... still says "quarterbacks are my reward" ... could enjoy best season in recent years with promise shown by strenghtened Pats' rushline.

Still have season tickets .You should have seen Chuck Shonta play
he makes our def backs all pro`s.
To be honest it was great watching this team all these years .
It was worth it. No more laughing stock.

Shonta was on the all 60s team...but I believe that was because he got all the ink at the time because they threw to his side of the field more. He wasn't that good...but he got a lot of picks..and burned a lot. They didn't throw it to Felt's side..the reason being he was a better cornerback. Dick Felt was much better..although he did not get the publicity or the noteriety... The line though was quite solid..

Mike Holvak, the Coach, was instructed to win, and save cigarete tin foils and accmulate string into a big ball. Scrimp, Scrimp, Scrimp. Billy Sullivan really didn't have the money to own and operate a football team.

These scrappy guys fought hard, sometimes won and some times lost, but hey always played hard.

People forget but thsi rteam was one game awayfrom a playoff withthe Kana City Chiefs whom they had alreeady beaten from going to thr First Superbowl. Drunk Namath came out and destryed their dreams as he ahd a spectacular game althoughhe was nauseaous and bleary eyed throughout the upset he staged against the Pats.

I do remember that game...it was on A Saturday...and the Pats were suppose to win...Nance was suppose to have a great game and...well the fell short 38-28...as Namath Boozer and Snell had big games. I watched and it was a large disappointment to a really solid season. They just got behind at the half and could never catch up.

Dick Felt has to join Dick Pole on the all sports name team, though.
