Post Jason Taylor flattered by rumors but downplays their validity

Per Rotoworld (via Herald)

Asked about rumors of him playing for the Patriots, free agent Jason Taylor said "I don’t know where it’s all coming from."

Patriots owner Bob Kraft indicated interest in Taylor last week. Taylor wouldn't rule out playing for the Pats, but said "it’s tough to play for one team (the Dolphins) for 11 years, and then go to play for your bitter rival."

Source: Boston Herald

Per Boston.com (Riess' Blog)

..the pass rusher couldn't conceal his delight over reading comments that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft would love to add him.
"I did hear that. I can't lie," Taylor said Sunday night on the red carpet of an event for the Jason Taylor Foundation at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. "I have not talked to Robert Kraft. We'll leave it at that. Those things will sort themselves out, and hopefully in the near future so I can get back to work."

That bothers me some what he said bitter rival. A hard core Dolphin fan I knew swore to me Taylor said something to the effect of out of respect he wouldn't ever be a Patriot. I doubt it's true, just makes me wonder though.

I think he would be a great addition to our OLB core, but I still feel that we need to draft an OLB rookie like Conner Barwin or Clay Mathews.

The only thing that's left for Jason is what Jersey No. he wear as a Patriot and when he shows in Foxboro.

Bingo. It may be hard to think about playing for a team that's a rival, but not hard to do.

It will be even more interesting for him if/when he comes to play in New England and realizes that the Pats don't consider Miami a bitter rival. Their rivals aren't in the division. They are Indy, San Diego, Pitstown.

Are you sure? Sounded to me like he was trying to play one team off against the other to raise the price. Not so good.

What I found interesting was that he wanted to get back to work...so much for the offseason be with family and all. I had thought he would be signed..but late June early July...not now.

Yeah, but he basically admitted he just wanted out. I think the off-season thing was an easy exit.
