Had I drafted Bethel Johnson, Marquis Hill and Chad Jackson with my #2 picks I know that I'd be working overtime to ensure I didn't piss away major chances to improve the team. Way to go Bill!

Not being at the meetings avoids dealing with a number of unpleasant issues currently plaguing JMac. Its no secret that very likely the Cutler trade will be resolved during the league meetings. Since this whole flap had its beginnings with New England and BB, its probably a good idea to avoid the place altogether.

Belittle him? By saying that he's working hard to help with continuity in personnel evaluation during a time of heavy turnover?

Usually he's there, this year he's not. Seems like a small but perfectly legitimate news nugget.

I would bet the house, that reason would never even enter BB's thoughts.

Business is done at the meetings. Are we really so brainwashed as a fan base that we're going to ignore this? If Belichick doesn't want to go, that's on him, and I assume he has his well thought out reasons. However, lets' not pretend that it's nothing but booze and hookers at the meetings.

At least he has got the perfect alibi to miss them.

IMO, tHere's no business that can be conducted in a conference setting that can't be accomplished by telephone in 1/10th or 1/100th the time.

But I'm wondering what business he did at last year's meeting that was so important it had to have been done there. Do you happen to remember?
