i'm happy for matt and mike, but this is an AFC rival team we're talking about here. playoff contender now. and we walk with the same level pick we took maroney and chad jackson in? i refuse to believe we could not have gotten a deal done with another team for better terms on this.

I know it's easy to feel we got hosed. It took me a while to get away from the feeling of getting shafted through the back door. I read all the comments and thought about it myself before coming to a conclusion and making a post.
And the conclusion is that this is not over yet. We have yet to see what happens with the #34 pick. We may pick a player with it, we may use it to move up in the first round, or we can parlay it to a first and 2nd/3rd in 2010.
Personally I am hoping for extra 2010 picks. All the reports say this draft is very deep, but draft reports are always a crapshoot. I'd not be surprised at all if when we get to the clock at #34, they announce that the pick has gotten dealt to a mediocre team for a 1st and 3rd next year, meaning a high to mid 1st and a high to mid 3rd.
