Not much more to say than that. Much more solid player in all facets, in my opinion.

That's the scary thing, have you ever seen a picture of them together? No, neither have I. It's pretty obvious to me that they are the exact same player --- I mean the EXACT same player. BB has some weird ***** going down that even the CIA, the NSA and the National Board of Insurance Adjusters have no idea about. It would blow everybody's mind if this leaked out.
I'm going to say TBC just because he has more experience. He's at a point in his career where his second contract didn't work out too well. He's playing for his life at this point. Woods should earn his second contract and play at least a few more years.

Tough call. TBC as a Patriot is probably similar, but Woods will probably streak into the lead of this argument this season. I think he's a late bloomer who's going to be a two-notches-above average OLB, if he doesn't get ruined by another team.

neither is that good, but TBC had proven much more effective than woods has ever been.......
not sure what some people here see in woods.........no pass rush, and not much of a tackler........constantly out of position on screens......
TBC found his way onto the field when competition for that position was stronger
Yep, Alexander and Izzo were pressing TBC hard for playing time in 2006.
You may be right about Woods issues, but the transaction timeline and the PFWeekly note below suggest the NE coaches took away a more positive assessment of Pierre's performance. I will concede that TBC is the more accomplished pass rusher, but Pierre saw game reps earlier in his career than TBC. Hopefully he didn't loose too much weight while his jaw was wired up and we can enjoy a lively competition in Training Camp.
Patriots optimistic they can overcome loss of LB Thomas
Nov. 15, 2008
A source close to the Patriots tells us that the team is better equipped to handle the likely season-ending loss of OLB Adalius Thomas than initially believed. OLB Pierre Woods, a third-year career backup who was once thought to be nothing more than a situational pass rusher, proved against the Jets that he can stand up surprisingly effectively against the run. Also, his liability in coverage is somewhat mitigated by versatile LB Gary Guyton, an undrafted rookie revelation who can play both inside and outside.
Woods, 26, has played in 36 career games with three starts since being signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Michigan on May 8, 2006. The 6-foot-5-inch, 250-pound linebacker played in the first 12 games of the 2008 season and started three straight games before being injured on Nov. 30 against Pittsburgh. Woods recorded a career-high 27 tackles (20 solo) in 2008, including his first career sack. His 11 special teams tackles lead the team this season. As a rookie in 2006, Woods played in eight games and recorded 11 special teams tackles and two tackles on defense. Last season, Woods played in every game and led the team with 22 special teams tackles while adding a pair of tackles on defense.
Junior Seau was signed by the New England Patriots as a free agent on Friday, December 5, 2008
