Default Another former Pats cornerback sells Super Bowl ring

Former Patriot pawned Super Bowl ring for $2,000 - Projo Pats Blog

Well, unlike Leonard Myers, former Pats CB Brock Williams only pawned his, but never came back to get it.

Oman, sounds like he hit on hard times The injury he sustained back in 01 apparently sidelined him for the season and he was collecting NFL disability for it.

To save anyone else the Herald click:
Quote:
Whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and so it was for former New England Patriot Brock Williams’ priceless 2002 Super Bowl ring, which the now disabled cornerback swapped to a pawn shop for $2,000 in chump change.

“He was offered $15,000 to sell it, but he said no. He just borrowed some money and never came back,” said Rick Harrison, owner of the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop on the Las Vegas Strip.

That was three years ago. But a heartbroken Marie Williams, who to this day doesn’t know what her 29-year-old son was thinking, told the Herald, “It would be a miracle if we could get this ring back. It would be a godsend.”
It also seems the pawn shop owner has NO intention of selling it either. Sad situation

And unlike Je’Rod Cherry who auctioned his to benefit a whole handful of decent charities.

Sad.

Wow, 2000 bucks really IS chump change. I wonder what the rings were worth at the time they were made for the team.

At that price, imagine how many Pats fans would want to own SB ring #1.

The store owner sold it a couple weeks ago. What an ass, saying "it's not for sale."
Here is the auction:
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 2001 SUPER BOWL XXXVI GAME RING NR - eBay (item 260353352522 end time Feb-03-09 19:00:00 PST)

WOW, he got $100,100.00 for it, although the bids look very fishy, it was going along up to about 60,000grand and then all of a sudden a bid came for 100,000 and then 100,100. Let's see if the guy really comes up with the cash on this one.

WOW!

100Gs - Thats still about $90,000 profit after taxes and eBay/Paypal fees

Did you expect anything less from a lowlife Pawn Shop owner who preys on people who are in unfortunate situations?

Do you rather he deal with Tony Soprano? You may not like pawn shops but they serve a purpose and they are legal.

I wonder who bought it? Wouldn't it be awesome if it was Kraft or someone associated with the Pats? That'd be such a nice story
