Maybe it was a lack of sleep, but Rodney and Willie...
...On NFLTA late last night (presumably a repeat from earlier in the day) were saying of four of the former BB associates (Weis, Mangini, Pioli, McDaniels) they both thought Mangini would be most successful this year. Rodney even went on to say he "loves" the guy. Willie cited him as having HC experience and good defensive mind.
So is Rodney positioning himself for a job in Cleveland, or do you think Rodney really thinks he's good?
He also said Bill was the coach he most admired/learned from the other day.
Having two (former?) Patriots on there talking about the SB and Patriots was really neat. Seemed like the conversation kept derailing into Pats talk, hehe.

I've just watched NFLTA that I recorded from last night, although I'm unsure which day it was from over on your side of the pond. Rodney was on, and in the 4 downs segment at the end, he was asked who his favourite Steeler of all time was.
"I have a lot of respect for the Steelers.....but I HATE 'em. Troy and all those guys are great, but as a team, I hate them. Pats, Steelers, it' the way it's meant to be".

Creator of the Pats must draft Jason Verrett in 2014 no matter the cost fanclub.

I think both of those guys are class acts and they, unlike many others (i.e. Sapp and Faulk) are not willing to slam people. They are also active NFL players, so a certain discretion/respect should be taken on their behalf when it comes to coaches.
That being said, I'm not surprised that they liked the Rat, Bill did as well until he screwed him - I'm sure they have a different view of the situation than Bill.

I'm sorry I missed that.
I REALLY want Rodney back next year.

He cited BB as the coach with the biggest impact on his career. He said "I'd been in the league a long time, but when I came to New England and Belichick, it was like coaching 101. He tought me things, game breakdowns, that I thought I'd never be able to learn". Or words to that effect.
He was really really impressive. The guy could be a great coach.

In spite of the (undeserved) "dirty player" rep from some, Rodney is a class act all the way. A Patriots hall-of-famer, smart, articulate, and a total gamer if their ever was one.
Unless he simply cannot physically handle being an NFL player at this point, who in their right mind wouldn't want him back in our secondary in '09?

He's the only coach of the defense listed, they probably had little to do with Weiss or Mcdaniels.

yeah sawthat. rodney and mangini are close .mangini named his second son after him and in the past has spoken nice things about rodney.
spygate is really between organizations and coaches..the players have their own relationships.
