Re: Felger:Pats card and Favre pursues another F in big game
Favre fans will always give his culmulative career stats to explain why he is consistently called one of the top 5 all-time QBs. Which is bull**** because the guy has played more games than any other QB by like a mile.
His per game stats are, abyssmal.
He's an exciting QB, he'll energize his fans and a lot of the locker room, but what he won't give you is reliability. He is equally prone to throw the game-winning TD by threading a ridiculous needle after evading a sack as he is prone to throwing the game-ending INT by making a bone-headed decision.
Nothing about that kind of unpredictability screams Top 5 all-time to me. Not when you've got players who posted better per-game stats and/or were overall more reliable when the game was on the line. Marino, Montana, Elway, Manning, Brady, Young. Heck you could even argue that guys like Moon, Fouts and Kelly give Favre a run for his money in terms of who is in the 'top X Qbs of all-time.'
