Okay, so I've gone through the whole "grief-anger-acceptance" thing overnight and have accepted the fact that we have lost the ability to control our own destiny. We need to win out and have several other teams do a nose dive in the last 4 weeks of the season in order to get into the playoffs, which to me, seems unlikely. It actually takes some of the pressure off and should quiet the whole ridiculous "Keep Cassel/Trade Brady" debate.
So, if we don't make it, I plan to ask Santa for the following things:
1) Please Santa, don't let the Jets win it all, or even get into the playoffs if you can help it. If it can't be us, I would rather see Miami win the division than the Jets and their !@!#@! QB.
2) Please Santa, do not stick the masses with a Manning vs. Manning Superbowl. Upon further review, I would rather see the Jets in the Superbowl than Goober 1 vs. Goober 2, although both scenarios would choke me and make me question my NFL fandom.
Thank you and say "Hi" to Mrs. Claus.
How about you, what are your holiday wishes (aside from the Pats pulling off a miracle and making it into the playoffs)?

Hard to say, but I could live with the Dolphins taking the division if we can't. After another key injury yesterday, they're getting banged up at important positions, though. Pennington would have sweet revenge on the Jets and it would be one HECK of a comeback story.
No way New England isn't the class of the NFL next year again, either way. We'll have a LOT of battle-hardened youngsters, maybe even two good-great pass rushers already in the fold, the return of a very hungry TFB, and probably a LOT invested in our D in the draft/FA.
I'm not giving up on the season, even if it's just to see the young guys start to find themselves. Taking our division in these circumstances would be amazing.
Anything else is cake.

Oh, I'm not giving up on the season - I will watch with the same passion these last 4 games, and I do think we have a good shot at winning them all. I just don't think it's likely that the Jets, Miami, Indy or Baltimore are all going to implode, and I think we need at least two of them to suffer two losses while we win all 4, which seems unlikely, given everyone's remaining schedules.

Baltimore has Washington, Pittsburgh and Dallas ahead. That could be THREE losses.

Very true, but what 2 are Indy or the Jets going to lose? I suppose Indy could lose to Tenn the last game of the season, but Tenn will probably be resting everyone. The Jets could lose to Miami and Buffalo, but how likely is that? Do we lose the tie-breaker to Miami if the Jets win the division and we and Miami run the table?

Not worried about Indy losing, they won't lose enough to matter.
The Jets? They just need to lose to either Buffalo or Miami, that's it. Considering yesterday's outcome it is a possibility.
Miami? Not worried about them. They will drop one at least.
Baltimore losing 2 is our best bet though. Rookie QB/coach going into a tough December stretch.
Of course we need to take care of our own business.
1-We need to do something with our secondary in 09. I can't believe that we have had this problem for 4 years. It's unacceptable.
2-Cassel needs to go. I don't care where he goes.
3-TB perfect health.
4-I want to see a ring in 09. I'm tired of waiting.
