I believe the fans have a right to be negative after this game. But I don't think some of the threads are appropriate just because of one loss. The "poor drafting" threads that pop up after every loss are just BS moronic fan rants especially when they weigh a seventh round pick the same as they would a first rounder.

I started a complaining thread myself tonight and most people would put me on the homer side. There was very little to nothing to like about today's game. But to drudge up the same tired threads about drafting, Cassel sucking, etc. is what is driving a lot of posters from this site.

at this point i think people should be able to post what they want. there is so much anger and criticism here. i can see why people get turned off or leave.

It's actually very ironic that people reply to threads in a negative manner which perptuates the thread and keeps it going.

Who is to say what can be posted or what can't?

I don't agree with some and do post a comment or two in them or actually try to rationally debate with explained opinion.

I mean if you don't want to read it then don't post to it.

I'm sorry guys. I know me complaining about complaining threads is in and of itself pretty silly, but I KNOW there are those of us who don't like the way things are spiraling downward here and I am trying to make sure our displeasure is know.

Light gets burned badly almost once a game. It happens. He's not great, but he's no Max Lane, either.

I remember when I first started coming here during the 06 season, I was so impressed with the REAL football talk and back and forth discussion that was going on. I read posts on here for over a year before I got an account, and Patsfans.com became my first place to go for Pats news and analysis. Nowdays, there are so many "This sucks, that sucks, why isn't Chad Jackson still here, BB and SP screwed this team up SO BAD" posts to wade through before I actually find something resembling actual football X's and O's talk, it's disheartening. If I was a new user first looking for a place to discuss the Pats, I would pass right by this place and keep searching.

And I am not trying to have a "know it all" act and do not give a damn if I "impress" you.

This topic has really been the beacon for the forums this year. From one emotional high to the next emotional low, this theme has been the only constant.

The perpetual angles on Brady/Cassel even moved Ian to step in a create a thread. I have seen posts from moderators threatening banishment to the PS forum, long time contributors exodus out of here and outright personal insults flung. And most times I just shake my head.

It is so simple I cannot understand why there is so much drama these days; People have differing opinions, these forums are a place for them to express it.

I love my Patriots. I have always loved my Patriots, I will always love my Patriots. Sometimes my Patriots let me down and I get angry, frustrated, confused, and a host of other things.....but I still love them. Now, while I am not a person who starts doomsday threads or meddles in them, I sometimes find opinions I agree with, and other times don't. The nature of discussion is to divulge our thinking and share in the thinking of others. If all we wanted was dissent or affirmation this would be a pretty boring place.

I expect the Patriots to win. They are paid to win and nothing less. When they don't win I want it fixed. I expected them to win back in '85 and when they didn't I wanted it fixed.

For those of you that want to jump ship please do. The Patriots are not going to win them all and some games are going to be outright ugly.

For those of you that think people of an "adverse" opinion that causes you distress are not "real fans", you need to learn a broader definition of "real fan".

You Flatlanders really trip me out sometimes.

One of the things I find so exhausting this season is that if we lose, it's total doomsday. But if we win and play well, we get discussions about trading Brady. I know some posters appreciate the middle ground, but I guess the overreactions just stand out more.

Really? Tell me then, exactly what was it inherent in the shotgun that was the reason Light got beat?

Enough. Before it gets nasty I'll lock this thread, however there will be some heavy moderation this week to try and maintain order as I'm sure there will be plenty of cricicism from those who voted in the "5th Quarter's" poll asking if they felt the Pats would make the playoffs. 78% said no, which made Steve Burton point out that the "bandwagon" fans are jumping ship. I'm sure you'll see more of it here as well. - Ian
