Jaguars RB Fred Taylor hinted Wednesday that he's anticipating playing for a different team next season.
"You do the math," Taylor said. "If you were on the outside looking in, you would think a change was coming." If Taylor leaves Jacksonville, it could mean big things for Maurice Jones-Drew in '09.

I wouldn't count that out. Maybe he wants to go for a championship season with Brady & Maroney coming back

At this stage of his career, I'm not sure if Taylor would be of much help. He's in his, what, 11th season? There is a very good chance that Taylor is on the decline, and that a draft pick or younger FA will be of more help.
our committee has shown they can take care of the attack on the ground if thats what mcdaniels wants and that has been without mr glass and jordan for most of it.
Taylor would just be another cog in he machine if he came here. Wouldn't let us down, but i would be all for BJGE getting 10 touches a game in 09-10 with the rest of the committee.
To tell you the truth, we have other areas of need, and Taylor at a cheap contract would be nice, but we won't aggressively pursue a RB this offseason.
Solidifying the secondary and tying up contracts, perhaps another lb, although guyton's potential may have seen that need filled, and crable is to come back next year taking away that need for another olb.
O-line may get a tweak, And gaffney has been dropping some passes right out of the bread basket, so i think we will see one more new receiver next season. CHAD O.C. ;-)
We may look at a TE, Mr Gonzalez, your flight is ready for boarding.
It will be an interesting offseason, no doubt they will try to get cassel to stay if at all possible, but we will be carrying a lot of salary in qb's then. At least when they complain that we a running up the score, we can say we had our backup qb in.

I really wish this team could find a workhorse back in his prime, not recycled backs. Yes, I know I'm still waxing poetic about the time we had Curtis Martin, a 3rd round steal who was a true workhorse back for this team for three seasons.

How many superbowls did we win with CuMar, and how many with recycled backs?
If he's not happy about not being "the guy" in Jacksonville, why would he want to come to the Pats? The Pats already have enough RB's and Taylor really woundn't be an upgrade to anyone on the roster.

Oh, no doubt, having those recycled backs (Smith and Dillon) leading the way helped. I'm just being greedy, as I'd like a star RB to compliment the star QB. And if we have to go the recycled route again, I don't know if I'd trust Taylor as the lead back. I'd be more comfortable if LJ came at a decent price. Edit- Dillon in '04 was PHENOMENAL, and that's the kind of consistent running I [personally] would like to see for more than a single season.
