So, just for fun here goes. The Patriots could revamp their defense by adding three studs, a shutdown corner, an athletic LB, and lets throw in a hard hitting safety to go along with Merriweather who is starting to look really good. The Pats swap #1's with..........Detroit, then trade that pick for multiple picks and a player that is either traded to a third team or kept. Imagine if the Patriots had hands down the best defense in the NFL with their current offense (I'm just saying).
So you want to trade Brady to Detriot? What did he ever do to you? Brady would retire before going to Detriot. Detriot s the worst team in the NFL.

At least here in NE official position controversies don't emanate from armchairs, thankfully... The same people who would trade Brady wanted Cassel banished to WalMart 3 months ago, which is why the crap they spew from the comfort of those armchairs is by and large hysterical drivel.

The only scenario I see would be Tampa Bay.

TB would make them a truly legit SB threat. I wonder if TB would get along with Gruden.

SF is so bad, I don't see him taking the hometown route.

I might add we do have 5 picks in the first three rounds. Anyone know that status of defensive talent for the 2009 draft?

***** the 49'ers point of view, we're talking about shipping out Tom Brady here.

Madness, utter madness. People are sitting in straight jackets and padded cells right now for thinking about lesser things.

It's a legitimate post. This is not BB is only as good as Brady, it is not Seymour should be cut, not any of the numerous dribble that show up on this site.
We have a QB who may end up at season's end as a great player who many teams would covet. Did you notice more touch by Cassell on some of the throws yesterday, better decisions on throwing out of bounds and running. The guy is getting better each game. What if he absolutely burns Pittsburgh next week? Then we'll have twice as many of these threads next week with plenty of fans backtracking. All I'm saying, is what could you get for each qb and what the end result be. Yea, that's worth quiting this forum for.

Peter King suggested the Patriots wouldn't do it for Barrett Ruud and two #1s. Turn Ruud into Willis and move those #1s up . . .

Brady for Willis, a high #1 this year and an unknown #1 next year. Mayo and Willis in the middle. Draft one of the top ten studs in this draft, there's some DBs, OT that make me drool.

I'm not saying I'd do it - but I'd be REAL tempted. And this thread can be just for fun.
I have to agree here. We all love Brady equally, but it's not blasphemy to wonder what it would take to pry him from this team.

For me, I wouldn't do it for any amount of draft picks, it'd have to be proven players that can help this team immediately and where we need it. Any team out there with a strong combination of LB/DB's that can make this a championship defense once again would tempt me. Not saying I would do it, but I'm sure Id be tempted.

So, its not logical to discuss the trade value of any player currently on the Patriots roster?
Blasphemy pure and simple.
