Default Felger and Belichick on Moss - who do you believe?

What a contrast!

Felger says that Moss dogged it on 78 of 79 plays and was an embarrassment until the final play.

Belichick on WEEI says "to me, Moss was probably the most dominant player in the game for us ... because he took so much coverage with him and then, in the critical play of the game, made a play that - I don't know how many other receivers in the league could make that play."

Belichick praised Moss for working as hard as he did against the double coverage, noting that the Jets had to continue to double Randy, opening up opportunities for Gaffney, Aiken and others.

"Last night's game ... is why he's a captain of this football team. The player's respect him and he went out and did all he could ... to help out the team in other ways."

When Ordway noted that others had criticized Moss, Belichick responds (in his typical understated fashion) "I mean, we passed for 400 yards."

Is this a serious question?

Two things are generally true for me:

1) I'll believe Belichick over most anyone

2) I'll believe most anyone over Felger

This is like the perfect storm of no-brainer here

One is a hall of fame coach. The other has never played a down of football in his life. You come to your own conclusion.

When guys named Sam Aiken get wide open on plays you better believe it was for the reason that Moss was double-teamed and quite a bit last week- Without seeing the overall coverage I would not be surprised if the corner and both safeties were heading towards Moss's way against the Jets

Mangini certainly let it be known to his players and coaches that if his team were to lose , Moss would NOT be the reason (although he almost did)

A lot of coaches are willing to let Welker and guys like Aiken and Gaffney have more 'freedom' out there to avoid giving Moss any room to make plays - Moss is the most feared and respected WR in the league and it shows the way coaches set their defense up to stop him.

In other words,BB was correct

The question was intended to be sarcastic.

Just another example of the huge difference in perspective between the professional (coach) and the layman (sportswriter).

Isn't that redundant? I mean, it's already full of cr@p, right?
