This week, the Daily News’ Rich Cimini wrote, “I get the sense [the Jets have] invested a lot into this game, emotionally. [A loss would] be deflating and — dare I say? — devastating. But I know this: This team is very confident. I really get the feeling they believe it's their time.”

If I were the jets Id believe its my time too, not everyday I play a Pats team missing the best qb in the NFL, top 3 RB's, emotional leader in Rodney, best pass rusher and most versatile defensive player in AD.
Gotta love those Rats for getting brave and confident its there time to beat a depleted Patriots team lol.... Classic
yep, if they can't take one this year, when can they?
BUT, it's contagious.
I am finding myself looking at this like I use to look at the Colts when we were both undefeated last year. A lot of people here are saying it's like the old days, and it definitely is -- a wide-open race, with the AFC Least finally turning into well, if not the AFC Beast, the AFC at Least We're Over/at .500.
We can get all snooty about how it's not the REAL Patriots, but these ARE the real 2008 Patriots. This is the team right now, this is the team that takes the field.
I'm getting the same kind of perverse pride I use to get back in 01 and 03, when everybody was injured all the time, and it didn't matter, they just kept winning. With all the great talent added last year, and all the drama, it's like that got forgotten in the team psyche... it's good for mental toughness.
I mean, except if we lose. But then again... now who's playing with "nothing to lose"?
And are going up against a division rival playing without it's starting QB, RB, LB and S
In fact the Pats are starting a 4th string RB and a QB who until this season hadn't started a game since High School.
On top of all of this, they believe their coach is a "genius"
Yup, I'd say there's just a tiny bit of pressure on the Jets to win this game, especially since they've already lost to this depleated team, with the Jets off next to play unbeaten Tennessee after this game, then host to Denver.
They know if they can't get it done now, they never will.
MangIdiot's feeling the pressure more than anyone.
I won't say he'll be fired if he loses this game - but should he lose and then fail to make the playoffs or otherwise find a way to choke, its going to be tough to justify keeping him around.
Why keep a coach who proves that not only can he not beat the Patriots when they're at full strength, but can't even beat them when they have both hands tied between their backs?
"Their Time" indeed.

I seem to recall they thought it was "their time" last time they signed Ty Law. Look how that worked out for them! Who knows what will happen, but it sure would be nice to send them home with their tails between their legs.
they have no other alternative...they spent a bunch of bucks in the offseason...dumped a decent but not "winning" QB who's making headlines elsewhere...brought on a marquee guy who's 39. Cimini is the Jets Beat reporter for the Daily News and he's tired of covering an also-ran that never-was, or at least hasn't been in 40 years.
If they don't do something interesting this season--defined by not just making the Playoffs but winning a game or two--they have nothing to show for it but a 40 year old QB who could give out any day. The fans are getting restless, the writers are looking for blood, Mangini's Honeymoon is long over and the Giants own the town. So, lots of pressure. Believe me, this is a BIG game for them and their fans. I hope our guys can match their intensity.

Exactly true. I hope we serve Mangina Favre's head on a platter.

Yeah, but the problem is nobody cares. If you win, it's "your time," no matter who you beat or how depleted they might be. I'm nervous that this is the second game in three weeks where we're playing a good or at least respectable team for whom the game means a lot more than it does for us.

The jets have all the pressure on them to win tomorrow. There the ones who feel like its "there time". They know this is there best chance to beat the Patriots in a meaningful game its all lined up for them when you think about it. The beauty of football is you still gotta show up and execute on gameday.
I agree with you that if the Jets win the media will be all over them and how there one up in the division. But I bet you not one person on tv will mention how they beat a Pats team thats just depleted with really key injuries.
I have all the confidence in the Pats and I expect them to come out and play there hearts out and come away with a win. One thing im certain of is I'am going to be proud of this team when the clock ticks down to zero no matter what.
