Default Re: Colts starting CB Marlin Jackson Out for Year

Solid? Yes, but frankly, a bit disappointing this season. IMO, he has been banged up quite a bit this year (but hasn't missed a ball game). we are assuming Hayden will return, so it's a swap, Hayden for Jackson. Our 5'8" Jennings has had his head up his ass quite a bit, but gets the starting nod over second year player Dante Hughes. Jennings is the guy who was assigned to Moss quite a bit in last season's game Bullitt has been a formidable replacement for Sanders. We look for Melvin to see the field quite a bit, regardless of the status of Sanders. Colts went with 4 LBer's in the Monday Nighter, and they played pretty well. Might look for more of that, especially is Morris is back in your line up. The formula to beat our D is short drops and quick throws, which plays right into Cassell's hands. On offense, Addai supposedly back, if so, I hope he splits time equally with Rhodes. Would be surprised if that were not the case. Despite our piss poor record, and the game not having the hype it would if TB were playing, I still think it will be the loudest crowd of the year. Should be an exciting battle regardless.

Exactly. EH3 is a popular whipping boy for many, but end of the day he is a gamer, and more often than not when his name is mentioned on a play I am happy and not angry.

People around here demand perfection, but I can guarantee you can file EH3 under "Don't Know What You Have Until It's Gone."

It's pretty big since he was their #1 CB and their other starter (Kelvin Hayden) is coming off of injury that had knocked him out of a few games and still may not play. Also two of the back ups (Hughes and Jennings) didn't practice yesterday. One was reported as injury related (Hughes) and the other wasn't (Jennings).

Maybe they'll sign Ty Law?

Marlin Jackson is a heck of a corner as Madden would say. He's the guy that intercepted Brady to clinch the AFC championship in 2006. This is a HUGE loss for Indy and he could be a no. 1 corner for a handful of teams.

Default Marlin Jackson to IR [merged]

I read somewhere on the colts board that Marlin Jackson tore his ACL and is out for the year, which means he won't play against us on Sunday. I don't wish injuries on anyone. i'd imagine bob sanders has to return to face us on Sunday.

Anyone know who the replacement will be?

Also, was Marlin going to be on Moss? Not sure how the Colts assign their CBs.
Tim Jennings will move over to Jackson's spot. Jennings had been filling in for Hayden who they are hoping to have back this week. Jackson is the tallest corner on the roster, so that will hurt going up against Moss. Marlin is a solid CB, but has not been quite as good as he was last year. Jennings scares most Colts fans. I'm not sure who will match up with Moss, they probably won't use much man coverage this week given the situation.

Jackson is the guy that picked off Brady at the end of the AFCCG to seal the game.

Who can forget?

To think, Jackson and Hayden were backups to Harper and David in that secondary. Personnel-wise, the Colts defense was underrated that year.

Wasn't he also the CB the microphones caught Welker yelling "you f'ing suck" at last year?
