Anyone else think Brandon Merriweather deserves a gold star for his performance on Sunday. I thought the guy was a beast he was all over the field in run support and pass coverage. It was very encouraging to see I think this guy is going to be a franchise safety.

Agreed - he's looked great all year, and especially yesterday. I was impressed with him in run support as well. And the flexibility to play cover at the end of the game, covering the slot WR, that's a bonus, too.

Merriweather is developing nicely. His insticts are good and he'll just get better with more PT.

I thought Merriweather looked like the Best DB on the Pats De yesterday. Now that isn't saying too much as the unit stuggled as whole. good signs from him and I think despite stuggling the unit did seem to be performing better as the game went on. Maybe the struggles can be attributed to getting used to things with out Rodney.


IMO if this team is going to go deep the secondary needs to improve. We don't want to see Cassel getting into shoot outs because the secondary is weak. Good news though is it is an extremely young group which should mean they will be significantly better as the weeks go on.

Meriweather is gonna keep gettin better. Im a bit concered about durability, but overall he's a gold star on the team. We need a couple more just like him then we'll be ok!

I like both Wilhite and Wheatley too. Let's be honest the key to a good pass defense is really in the front 7. The Broncos have Champ Bailey and Dre Bly and they cant stop anyone. We can win with a mediocre secondary if we get great play from our front 7, which we have the last 2 weeks. If Merriweather plays like he did yesterday he will be at safety for the next 7 years.
