Stupid post. What exactly does he disagree with in my post, or do you?
Just namecalling/trolling is all you're good for apparently.
Vrabel is old and feeble, he is near useless. Do you dare even TRY to REFUTE that? I think not.
Box, DaBruinz et. al. (look it up) refuted your unsubstantiated and ignorant repeated blathering about Vrabes.
Please, promise us not to vote in Nov and all will be forgiven (Country is more important than football)

Do not want to feed the trolls, but this may get the award for stupidest post of the year.. Vrabel is getting older, and a little slower.. but very wiser.. to just say this without any quanfication shows that you do not know much about Patriots Football and the Patriots in general.. from what I have seen he is still as effective as ever.

I'm glad other people are seeing this as well. Vrabel has been horrible at rushing the passer this year. In fact, he's getting stoned at the line of scrimmage on almost every pass play. Also, he's very slow off the snap. It's surpising to see he has 2 sacks right now with the way he's playing. What the hell happened to him? I hope they activate Crable when he's healthy because he had a great preseason rushing the passer.

So I guess Vrabel is the chic thing to ***** about this week. We've gone from Cassel to Maroney to Vrabel now. I agree that he doesn't look good in the pass rush but neither did Seymour prior to last week. Know why? The answer lies within the defensive game plan.

Why do people on this forum say this? Why would the Pats want any player to play poorly or be a non factor? This is an excuse that many people on this board are playing out. Whenever a player plays bad, people say "it's part of the game plan". Give me a break. Vrabel has been really bad this year, that is not what the game plan calls for. I'm 100% sure they don't tell him to get stoned at the line when he's rushing the passer one on one. It's becoming a joke when I see him try to get after the QB, especially when he stunts inside.

Could you tell me the percentage of snaps that Vrabel is on the field for in which his sole or primary responsibility is to rush the passer?
How good/bad are the blockers he is going against? Is there any coaching involved in his pass rushing or is his job (whenever he rushes the passer) to "get to the QB at all costs"?
Also when you say Vrabel has "been really bad this year" are you including his ability in the run game?

I was talking to a co-worker today about this very discussion.. And we both agree the LBers in general aren't as effective as they were last year...
I'm on the side that Vrabel and Brusci are slowing down. From the unpaid eye of an untrained professional, I've seen many times where Vrabel has rushed the passer and been picked up by the RB or by one OL.. It doesn't appear he is being double teamed.
Looking at his stats, he has 21 tackles after 7 games. Thats going to average to be about 49 tackles this year.. Half of what he normally does.. Not good for a player playing in a 3-4.. LB's are the heart and soul and this is where we should see 80+ tackles.
Per mike reiss articles, Vrable is playing a majority of the downs, so it can't mean he's losing his spot.. Maybe's he injured, maybe he's not.. But one thing for sure, he's slower this year..
About Tedy B.. He is definitely slowing down.. Yes his name was brought up many times yesterday, roughly 11 times, but none were tackles for losses.. An important stat many miss.. The rams averaged 4 yds a carry.. And this is without S Jackson..
I've enjoyed watching Teddy play for years but time has caught up.. Look at harrison, he's been a great player but you could see the difference with Meriweather in there.. The speed that kid brings is something you can't teach.. I dont think the loss of Harrison will sting us to much..
What do all those words have to do with the fact that whenever Vrabel rushes the QB, he doesn't ever get close to him, even when only blocked one-on-one? His days of being a pass-rusher worthy of respect, much less fear, are over. If Woods can show that he can properly hold the edge on runs, then he should start instead; Crable should be a game-day active (esp. with Jarvis still out), and Vrabel can rotate at ILB with Bruschi.
capt. downer, nice to have you reading my stuff. Remember, keep smiling, Matt Cassel is our QB.
