Default 10/24 quotes from Haslett and Holt

Head Coach Jim Haslett

October 24, 2008

(On if RB Steven Jackson will be able to play)

“It will be a game day decision. He came out, I think before you guys came out, but he was working, took limited reps, but he did take some stuff. He doesn’t need a lot of reps because he knows everything, but the new stuff he took.”

(On if he is optimistic about RB Steven Jackson being ready to play Sunday)

“I don’t know, to be honest with you. I think it’s probably 50/50.”

On DL Adam Carriker)

“He did a little bit today. He was in there, I think he’s in the same boat, we’ll work them both out on game day and see how they are.”

WR Torry Holt

October 24, 2008

(On what he sees in the New England Patriots)

“I see a football team that is prepared every week, a football team that gives a different look every week. They are not the same every week. But one thing that stands out is that they are sound and well coached and they play hard. That is what we have to be ready for. Again, to match their intensity, to match their execution and try to get to the point quicker than they do and try to execute a lot more than they will. That is the challenge and that is the task that we will be up against this week and not only that but the hostile environment. Let’s not forget that these guys have won four Super Bowls (?) so they are battle tested and they will survive the initial shot or the initial wave and they will settle down and they will play football for four quarters. We have to be ready to match that.”

Maybe I'm wrong but this game scares me. They have a good offense, I know so did Denver, but they're clicking on all cylinders. Jackson is excellent. Bulger can play. Holt can still play. Avery is sneaky. I don't know. I have a feeling this is going to be a close game.

They all scare me. But it is definitely winnable.

O yea obviously it's winnable. Look, they have good offensive players and they have played very well and inspired I guess for a new coach.
