I hope Spann is just here in the interim until we can get Lynch. If we don't get him than apparently he was not as good a fit as we would like to think.
Not me. I hope Spann has the "spark" like so many low-rounders and UDFA's in this system show. He's younger and faster than Lynch and is trained in the system. If he's got good instincts and can tackle well, he's an infinitely better value add-on.

I like what I saw out of Spann in TC and preseason but he doesn't offer that physical at the line play that Rodney did and like Lynch has. As I said if we stick with Spann than it means BB saw something he didn't like when Lynch was here. I am OK with that as Spann would just be a back up but to ignore the fact that on the surface Lynch appears to be the perfect replacement for Harrison just because you have hopes of a "spark" is wishful thinking.
Basically what I am saying is that Spann may have more upside and may actually be a better safety at this point in their careers but Lynch certainly appears to be better equiped to play a similar role as Rodney (physical, at the Line of Scrimage, blitzing, just smart veteran play). Let Merriweather and Sanders be the youth and bring in a vet in the mold of Rodney.

Lynch is trained in our system for 2 weeks so knows part of it and BB still doesn't think he can add more than Spann. If BB thought Lynch could bring more he would have kept him around instead of Ventrone most likely.

It's not really Spann replacing Harrison, but Meriwather replacing Harrison and Spann taking over Meriweather's role on ST. If Lynch was signed he would not be playing ST.

Re: BB PC on live right now. (Spann activated, Rodney to IR, more...)

That's more info than we usually get about these guys' injury status. Good news about Sammy. Hopefully Jordan too will recover soon. I was very pleased with BJGE's running style and ball protection Monday, although most anyone capable of making an NFL squad woulda looked good against the Donks in that particular outing.
