Re: Greg Cosell:With Cassel at QB, Pats have below-average offense
i think his comment on our running game is telling..
Quote:
Why haven't the Patriots taken the pressure off Cassel by featuring the ground game? The answer is simple: The Patriots cannot run the ball. They do not have a back on their roster capable of providing any consistency in a committed running game.
Laurence Maroney, when not injured, has been a tentative runner who does not reliably attack the line of scrimmage.
Maroney is rarely decisive hitting the hole, and he has shown a strong tendency to stop his feet in the backfield. I can't tell you how many times I've been frustrated watching him abandon a clear lane at the point of attack to bounce outside. That's college running, and it doesn't work in the NFL.
Re: Greg Cosell:With Cassel at QB, Pats have below-average offense
BREAKING NEWS: Matt Cassel is not as good as Tom Brady.
After intensive research and analysis we can conclude that Matt Cassel after 5 games is not as good of a QB as 4 time pro-bowl, 2 time SB MVP almost certain first ballot HOF QB Thomas Edward Patrick Brady.
Shocking as this may seem to some, an offense led by Matt Cassel is not as powerful as one led by last years league MVP and holder of the record for single season TDs.

shouldn't the rest of this year be spent developing KO and give the fans some excitement and something to cheer for
how do you know KO can do all those ? based on pre season ? you think he can come in and execute the spread offense , set protections and all right away ? esp when we dont have a running game ? with cassel our offense is bad but the playbook isnt limited. With KO it is even more limited without a running game and bad o line. he will be eaten alive in the league.
its always exciting to wonder what the unknown is. If ko comes this early in the season and sucks worse right way, what do you do next ?

This thread is a perfect example of a guy who knows his stuff, breaking down the pats issues and ( backing up his statements with film study and examples)...yet, guys like you come in and belittle the man, and make it seem like what he said was inaccurate or obvious. Pretty sure that article was very well written, and much more in depth than anything you would be capable of.
Please stop being a total homer.

How do you know he can't? Why not give him a shot, and see what happens. Let him play a half, and see what he can do. You're making claims based on your opinion and not fact.....KO might be smart enough to make it happens for us.
