DOLPHINS TALKING TO TY LAW
Posted by Michael David Smith on October 16, 2008, 4:06 p.m. EDT
The Miami Dolphins are talking to the representatives for Ty Law and could bring him in for a workout, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Dolphins VP of Football Operations Bill Parcells was head coach of the Patriots in 1995 and 1996, Law’s first two seasons in the NFL.

The Dolphins were already shaky at cornerback, and starter Andre’ Goodman missed practice today with what coach Tony Sparano called “a personal emergency.” Sparano did say he expects Goodman to be back for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.

The 34-year-old Law started all 32 games the last two years for the Chiefs, but he hasn’t found a new NFL home since the Chiefs released him after the season. There were reports that he was considering offers from both the Patriots and the Jets, but nothing materialized in either place. Perhaps his third time talking to an AFC East team will be the charm.

Ha! Just saw that and came on here to post it. You beat me to it!

Interesting that they mentioned that he was in fact considering an offer from the Pats....

LAW INTERESTED IN PACKERS, COWBOYS
Posted by Mike Florio on October 16, 2008, 5:06 p.m. EDT
Though cornerback Ty Law is talking to the Dolphins, he’s apparently interested in several teams. But he prefers to play for a contender.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Law would be interested in joining the Packers or the Cowboys, both of which have injury problems at the cornerback position.

“I can walk in now and play on Sunday,” Law said. “I just want to go out and play ball. I’ve been training to play, I’m ready to play, and I want to go play.”

Other teams that have shown some interest in Law over the course of the past several months include the Browns, Patriots, and Jets

It said he considerED offers from the Pats. I think Florio was talking about the talks between the Pats and Law from the offseason not currently.

I thought the mantra on this board was that the defense needed to get younger and faster.

Ty Law is 135 years old. I saw him play last year with the Chiefs. He has little left other than going for picks all the time.
