Default How close can Drew Brees come to Tom Brady's stats of 2007?

Has anyone even noticed the lights out season this guy has had?

2,000 yards passing in 6 games and 12 TDs - By far the best quarterback in the league without Brady around

How close can Brees come to Brady's 2007 stats with that tremendous offense?

His 84% completion rate against the Raiders was probably the best QB play I have ever seen in a very long time - Only P. Manning and Brady are capable of these kind of numbers.

I can see over 5,000 yards passing and mid 40s in TD passes but I don't see him breaking Brady's 50 TD pass record or interceptions anywhere near Brady's record low of 8 last season as Brees is already at 6 but he is ahead in passing yardage right now against Bradys numbers of '07 after 6 games believe it or not.

The Saints have to be once again one of the NFC Elite like it was 2 years ago

Brady vs. Brees would have been fun to watch in SB 43

I have. He's my Fantasy Football QB.

That would have been a sweet SB. Maybe next year.

Reggie Bush is having a pretty monster year too. I think the way he's been retooled since his RB college skills didn't show up in the NFL is how we should be looking at Maroney.

Weird stat, the league's season passing leader has never won a Super Bowl the year they obtained that title.

Obviously including the two greatest passing seasons of all-time ('07 Brady, '04 Manning)

I think Brees can break Manning's record of passing yardage in one season (forgot what the record number of passing yardage is)

Dan Marino passed for 5,084 yards in 1984.

He's the only QB to break the 5,000 mark.

I thought Manning surpassed 5,000 yards once?

I guess I am wrong but at this rate unless he has an injury Brees could very well break Marino's record - His average yardage per game is 335 yards right now, that ridiculously good and at that torrid pace would equal 5,300 yards

Brees is no doubt the next elite superstar once Brady and P. Manning are gone

Imagine what the Chargers would have done had they kept Brees and traded Rivers? - I bet they would have won one of those 2 games against New England in the playoffs, glad they kept Rivers although Rivers is pretty good himself, just not playoff good....yet.

Well, he's in the easy half of the year right now. This gets decided in December when teams are best at gameplanning against your offense and when the weather gets crappy (although they play in a dome, which is to his advantage).

Always loved Brees. It's said that he is a Brady clone with work effort and film study. Why SD hadda ship him outa town I'll never know.

It had to be cap space and the fact Rivers no longer wanted to sit like Aaron Rodgers and maybe demanded a trade if Brees was to remain starter - Either way,Shottenheimer and the FO was stupid

I love the guy as a QB too and if Brady was to retire in a few years,I would go after this guy when he became a FA - Nobody comes closer to Brady in terms of smartness and pocket presence than Brees

The Saints could easily be 6-0 right now if not for 2 missed FGs against the Vikings and Broncos and Payton refusing to run McAllister on 3rd and 1 against the Redskins and again, the Broncos. In a league with 32 mediocre teams they could run off a string of wins and take it this year, they just need to stop shooting themselves in the foot and make the kicks. Also, how good does Vilma look back in a 4-3? He's all over the field.
