Add Florio to the list of "liars", if he was really impressed with Al Davis' presser yesterday. That was just for that post, for show.
Let no one be surprised when, in a completely different post about Al Davis, maybe even today, he refers to the same presser as "embarrassing". Florio is for publicity only.

One thing is clear to us: The 79-year-old Davis still seems to be as sharp mentally as he ever has been, and we tend to believe every word he’s saying.
Quote:
Frankly, we were riveted by the press conference. Davis rarely speaks publicly, but when he does he brings the heat. And we get the sense that he treats his people well, if they are willing to treats others well, too. Particularly compelling to us were comments from Davis regarding his desire that long-term players not simply be discarded, and that Kiffin take care of ex-Raiders.
Davis has a clear passion for his team, and we have a newfound affection for Davis, and for the Raiders. Though there are problems with the franchise that need to be addressed, Davis deserves our deference and respect, and we’re more than happy to give it to him.
My initial reaction is why wait for something like 17 months to say something, why didn't he say something last year when it was fun for everyone to pile on?? This is idiotic, pure and simple..

In the last conversation Tillman had with Bauer, he told his agent, "You won't believe the letter I got from Bill Belichick.'' In the letter, Belichick praised him for his courage, his leadership, his willingness to set an example for people in this materialistic society, and he said it was an honor to be in the same league he'd been in. Peter King..
I guess it pays to be the team's mouthpiece since Reiss seems to be the only one who got the post-press conference comments from Belichick.
Here's what ESPN was playing up on their site:

Belichick, Moss decline comment on Davis' tampering allegation
Associated Press
Updated: October 1, 2008, 1:02 PM ET
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick has declined comment on a tampering accusation leveled against his team by Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis.
Belichick was asked Wednesday about Davis' statement and said that the Patriots are concentrating on Sunday's game against the 49ers in San Francisco. New England wide receiver Randy Moss also declined comment Wednesday.
Davis said Tuesday that the Patriots tampered with Moss before they obtained him from Oakland in a trade during last year's NFL draft. Davis made the statement after a news conference in which he announced the firing of his coach, Lane Kiffin.

Absolutely. The Raiders traded Moss. They made the deal. Is Al saying that somehow the Patriots made the Raiders deal Moss? Sheer lunacy.
Then Florio is just a fool. Lombardi has already thrown his money in, on the opposite side, although he did not deign to mention the ludicrous accusation.

OMG, please tell me this story does not become a big deal, how absurd...Yeah, Belichick must've flown out that Saturday and worked out Moss. It's not like the organization would've been busy that day, or in the weeks preceding it for that matter. I mean, why else does one of the greatest receivers in history get traded on day 2 of the NFL draft, I mean, obviously tons of thought went into it on both sides ahead of time.
