Default If Cassel leads the Pats to the playoffs...

would you hold on to him as the successor to Brady or would you trade him in the off-season? If he succeeds this year, as I said, what type of trade value could we get for him?

Your thoughts.

If Cassel sniffs the playoffs, he'll get a big offer from some team. I doubt he would stay to be a backup.

Just sniffs?

If he can't make the playoffs with the supporting cast around him I don't know why any other team would think he'd do any better in their system.

Did you see any of the Chiefs game yesterday? How about the Vikings game? With the way QBs have been dropping every week, Cassel would get an offer somewhere.

An offer sure, but big?

Of course I agree he'll be going somewhere, but I don't see some big deal happening unless he can at the least take this team to the playoffs.

If the Pats win the Superbowl with Cassel I say we all storm the league offices in New York and demand they rename the Vince Lombardi trophy the Bill Belichick trophy.

HE IS AN UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENT!

They cannot trade him. Cassel Is gone at the end of the season.

lol...

Brady has like id imagine 6-8 years left...u want to hold cassel that long?

i think cassel will be a good QB, but not he likes of Brady...hence we will let cassel move on....

(hopefully hes smart enough to go to the NFC, or at least leave the AFC EAST)

what they can do is either transition tag him (1st and a 3rd rounder) or franchise tag him (2 1st rounders)

Id put my money on the transition tag if he makes it deep into the playoffs and ends up with 25+ TDs. The browns did that to anderson last year and if you remember they had to scramble to get him signed last minute because at least 3 teams were beating down the browns door with 1st and 3 round pick offers

thats a coup for belichick
