Default Matt Cassel = Jay Schroder

For those who remember, Jay Schroder did not play much at ucla, and was thrust into the starting line up when Thiesman broke his leg.. Jay Schroder had a decent carrer, he was a bit of a mal content, but was a solid nfl Qb.. I hope Matt Cassel comes close to what Jay schorder did in 85/86 ... If he comes close to that , then we will be fine..

I have to disagree. Jay Schroeder was an innacurate gun slinger with a rifle arm prone to awful decisions and multiple interceptions. Cassel's on field play does not remind me of Schroeder at all.

I'd be more satisfied with Mark Rypien, superbowl MVP.

But the situation is sort of similar, a new QB coming on to guide an already mature team.

I prefer Brad Johnson. He played at Florida State, but didn't start. Then later won a Super Bowl as a starter with Tampa Bay. Still in the league too, at Dallas.
