Or

He has a poor game, but we win and Cassel has a statistical line of 12 for 28 for 128 yards with 0 TD's and 2 INT's. Looks shaky all afternoon.

Do you take the victory and move on.....not having answered definitavely the QB situation.

Or

Take heart in that the kid battles all afternoon, keeps us in the game but shows inexperience in the 4th quarter.....

I know some of you would say...Cassel is going to tear the Jets a new butt hole....and believe me, I want that so badly, that I'm going to take a knee sunday morning and pray for just that....A nationally televised beatdown of the Jets.

But the reality is...We are starting a QB that has not started a football game in a regular season since high school......
The reality is...We have an "all world" coach and receiver complemented by some other very good receivers, tight-ends, 3 solid running backs, a good offensive line, and IMO a "good to possibly stifling defense" with a young, "system-seasoned" QB with nothing to lose and a lot to gain under center. Stop worrying and take it for what it is.....a possibly exciting ride for the season or a wait 'til Tom comes back "year".

Yeah I sometimes visit a fish MB. They have a poll on what week they will get this seasons first win. The consensus is if they don't pull it off this week against the Cards (fins are 7 pt underdogs) there next legit shot is Nov 19th. Anyone who predicted 8-8 for the season was called a homer. Most would consider coming in 3rd in the AFC east as exceeding expectations. Too many of our fan base joined in 2002. Not enough remember 1990.

Only took me 6 minutes to figure it out......I'm like Drew Bledsoe in a collapsing pocket with a game on the line.....It took me forever to figure it out.

I'm so sick of hearing this line all week.

Brady went out of the game with 52 minutes still remaining.

Of course it wasn't officially a start but every time someone brings that up it's insinuating he hasn't had full game NFL experience, which is now wrong.
Your right, if I hear Felger say Cassell hasnt played a meaningful game since high school one more time, I think I'll stick a boot through my tv screen, HE JUST PLAYED LAST WEEK FELGER, YOU DOUCHBAG.

And he played 3/4 of a game against Miami. And although the NEP lost that game. Cassel is not to blame.

During the first quarter TB threw an int. Cassel did not throw a single one. Cassel went 11 for 20 for 168 yards. While 11 for 20 is not impressive it is better than Tom's 3 for 8. The running game sucked 55 yards in 28 plays. And the defense did didlily poo allowing 378 yards. And Matt engineered 2 4th quarter scoring drives both ending in Cassel throwing for a TD.

In order for the team to win the rb and defense needs to do their jobs too.

I think this is the best scenario possible for Cassel to have success. If he fails miserably, then he won't be in the NFL next season.

Reasons:

1. He is auditioning for a starting job with another team for next season
2. He is surrounded by a top 3 offense
3. He will be put in a position to succeed by his coaches and fellow players
4. He has a very good defense that can compensate for some mistakes and keep the oppositions scoring down, giving him a chance to win with average numbers
5. The platoon of backs will be able to grind down the defense preserving leads late in the game.

I am reserving judgement until after this game, but I tend to lean towards a young QB who has stuck with his dream - blossoming right before our eyes.

For God's sake this was our reality in 2005 and 2006 (D that couldn't stop a dead cat in '05, a "Who's That?" receiver corps in '06). . . . Damn has 2007 spoiled us. /
