Default Dr. Z on week 2

Jets to beat the Patriots by more than three. Matt Cassell had been schooled in a very good system, but his baptism last week came against one of the league's doggiest teams. Still fresh is the array of crazy defenses Eric Mangini has thrown at the Boys of Belichick, pulling off a victory in the game at Foxboro two years ago.

Cassell will be schooled to face an afternoon of weirdness. Two linemen, no down linemen, linebackers who shuffle around like derelicts looking for a handout, 350-pound nose tackles lining up at cornerback...no, just kidding ... Mangini hasn't gone that route yet. I think the Belichicks will have something special cooked up for Brett Favre as well, and a couple of picks wouldn't surprise me, but it's in Jersey, where the fans like to brutalize enemy quarterbacks on their maiden voyage. In sum: If Mangini's ****amamie alignments could confuse Tom Brady, imagine what they'll do to Brady, Jr.

I'm guessing that Belichick has been throwing crazy defenses at Cassel all week to see how he reacts. Sure, there will be surprises, but I bet we escape the Trashlands with a W and some confidence for young "Brady Jr".

exactly....

Cassel has been running the same O as Brady for the past 3 years. He has been playing against the Patriots D, and been coached by BB....

he is stepping into the best situation a backup can step into.

When was the last time Dr. Z practiced with Moss, Welker, Maroney, Morris, and the Oline.

the last 2 times the jets played in foxboro...we DID have trouble with their defense . we can attribute it to bad weather and sloppy field but the jets defense is going to be quite a challenge for our o line and cassel .

The Jets are a 1.5 point favorite according to this morning paper.

So, *Dr Nut predicts a huge upset. Patriots 24 Jesters 17.

* Dr Z is not a real Dr. and neither is Dr Nut.

This is a great feeling... waiting to see what we've got, basically. God, how sweet would it be to hang a few extra TDs on these guys, after all the "Pats are dead" stuff...

I don't see it happening, but ohhhhh what an entertaining afternoon it would make for!

He says Matt Cassell had been schooled in a very good system, but his baptism last week came against one of the league's doggiest teams.

If the Chiefs are ONE of the doggiest teams, the Dolphins ARE the doggiest team.

What kind of logic says the Pats are going to lose because they only beat the Chiefs by 7, and the Jets will win because they beat the Dolphins by 6?????

why do I feel it is going to basically come down to who can push the pile and control the line of scrimmage? Smoke and mirrors only go so far if you can't stop the run or run the ball yourself.
