Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
Last week, someone started a thread out here saying that he had "lost interest" in the season because of Tommy's injury.
Are you kidding me? I am even more pumped for this week's game than I would have been before.
I live in NYC and you should read the articles putting pressure on the Rat to win this week, especially in their first home game in the new stadium. I'm telling you, he'll need a Secret Service escort to get out of the place when the Pats win.
So, how pumped up are we?

Re: Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
I am jacked & pumped. Won't be on the net untill after the game as I'm headed off to the lakes region this morning but I'm attending the game at Zip's Patriots Shrine where we'll have a couple dozen rabid Pats fans watching the TVs. It's a different kind of excitement reminiscent of the days before the Pats juggernaught era.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

Re: Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
I'm excited because I really think the defense is going to excel as the season goes along. There were some bad plays against the Chiefs, but I saw a LOT of good things to be encouraged by:
-Mayo looked comfortable
-The run D was VERY good
-The goal line stand at the end
-4 Sacks... factor that out over the season, we'd have led the league with 64 last year
-Hobbs had a pick, and O'Neal looked pretty good with less than a week of time to learn the system
and we still have the possible infusion of Crable and Wheatley to look forward to at times. I think the D has a really good chance of shutting down the Jets O, holding them to 10 points or less.
And Miami may have Pennington, but that's about it. If they can score 14 and almost 21, I think we can get at least 20 points with Cassel, our wide receivers, and our running game (4.5 per carry, and over 5 per carry between Maroney and Morris).
Re: Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
I'm actually getting a little nervous as the game draws nearer. I was feeling very confident we'd win earlier in the week; not so much now. But nerves are good, right Matt Cassel? Anyway, I'll be glued to the TV and wishing for great things come Sunday at 4:15 (that and I'll be trying to entertain about 30 people. About a month ago we invited them over to celebrate the crushing of Lord Favre in his home debut. My how things change!).
Re: Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
I'll be there on Sunday, very much looking forward to it. There's a lot of intrigue obviously. We really have no idea what to expect, except that it will be a tough game.
Re: Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
I'm pretty "jacked up" as sunday will be my first day off since last sunday! I think that with many media types writing the team off, that will serve as further motivation for the team for not just sunday, but for the rest of the year.
I hope Crable will be playing as I think he'll be able to contribute in a postive way.
Does anybody know if Gholston played a lot last sunday? I've read that he's been struggling to adjust to the NFL.
Re: Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
Level of excitement for this game is directly related to which Pats' teams you are the bigger fan of - The nail-biting, hard fought, wow, what a great football GAME, I'm glad we won or the didn't break a nail, hardly broke a sweat, wow, what a great footbal TEAM, too bad we only won by 30. Those seeking the latter are feeling the biggest let down and are most pessimistic about the rest of the season, I suspect.
Me, I'm looking forward to a HARD FOUGHT GAME that will come down to the BEST EXECUTION and the LEAST MISTAKES. It would be nice to (I hope) not feel like I could start cleaning the garage in the 4th quarter without missing anything relavent to the outcome of the game.
Re: Is everybody as psyched about Sunday's game as I am?
I cant' wait ... I think PATs could win by a good margin but won't
be surprised if it is a close one.
I feel it really depends on how good a week of practice Matt has. Having
Moss and Gaffney sitting out of practice with injuries is not what you want with a QB trying to get more chemistry with them.
I hope we see both WR get a full practice in today.

They had "limited participation." That means they took part in at least some of the workout.
