I have a relative who asserts that when Belichick met with Goodell to await punishment last year, Goodell told BB, "I'll destory the tapes, you can go 16-0, but, as part of our deal, no way can you win the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is out. Just see to it that you don't win the Super Bowl."

Patriots win but with out Brady
Colts Lose
Chargers Lose

The NFL is setting it all up for Lord Favre.

The only thing fishy is your underwear. Now go take a shower, change that underwear and then come back fresh and clean. Just kidding, of course. I think you meant to say uncanny, not fishy.

Gootz; even though Brady doesn't look in any way injured whenever he's seen on/off the field. They also keep 5 backs on the roster, which most view as a bit unusual, seemingly setting up for a more ground based attack this season. The only thing anyone talks about all pre-season is the backup QB position...more backup QB talk than anytime in history it seems.

then we have the first game of the season and Brady is gone, most likely for the season, before the second qtr even starts.....just feels fishy for some reason
So the Patriots deliberately acquired more RBs and held on to Cassell so that they could pay off a Chiefs player to take out Brady for the year? This way they look SO brilliant for building up their RBs and backup QB?? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard... and I've heard a lot of stupid things on this board.

Belichick to Brady: "Okay Tom, now let's go over this again. You stand still and let one of their guys mangle your leg. It'll only hurt for a few seconds before the endorphins kick in."

I think the only way to prove that there has been a conspiracy here would be for me to travel to the world's ultra luxury sun soaked destinations and have a look-see if Tom is hanging out with Gisele, sans knee brace/ ACL repair surgery scar. It'll be a tall task, and I'm not exactly rich enough to pull this off, but I'll do my best, for the sake of us all.
