Can we consolidate some "What if Brady is badly hurt" discussion?
The early evidence re Matt Cassell suggests that he:
- Makes pretty good decisions (but not like Brady)
- Throws the ball pretty accurately (but not like Brady)
- Can throw a deep ball (but perhaps not like Brady)
- Runs OK when he needs to (better than Brady)
- Has the support of his teammates
- Telegraphs his throws too much, leading to INT opportunities (very unlike Brady)
In addition, the Pats have:
- The best set of WRs in the league, or else very close to that
- A set of capable but not game-changing RBs
- A set of capable but not game-changing WRs
- An OL that is returning three Pro Bowlers
- The best DL + OLBs in the game, or else very close to that
- A set of past-their-prime studs, not-yet-prime studs, and in-their-prime JAGs at ILB, safety, and CB
- A mixed bag on STs
- A heckuva coaching staff
Why would anybody forecast a losing season for such a team?
