Default Next week we'll be fine. We'll just play conservative.

I look at this way.

-Run Defense was solid- this was a major question park in the preseason

-The Front 7 brought pressure- Seymour was all over the field. AD and Vrabes had solid games. It was good to see pressure all game when we needed to.

-The secondary I thought was pretty good considering so many new parts. Sure there were breakdowns but it's game one and you ahve to expect them to get better each week and they'll gel more each week. We had alot of players in there at safety and corner which will help depth all season long. I was wrong as I thought Wheatley would start.

- The rb's were solid. There were many long gains all day long and the OL proved they could pass block. It's yet to be determined how the Chief run defense will rank all season long.

- Cassel proved me wrong. I thought we had no chance at scoring points if he entered the game. You need to look at this like 2001. Hopefully brady will coome back. But how was Brady's first game?

We'll just have to play more conservative rely more on the defense and run game and you ahve to assume Cassel will get better each week if he's in their long term. Sure he'll have his growing pains.

and Faulk will be back next week.

I hope Brady is back ASAP, but this is what we have if we isn't and I think we still have a shot at winning

I was just looking at the NYJ box score. Miami only ran the ball 17 times (Williams 10, Brown 6, and Ginn 1) for just under 3 yards a pop. They were trailing by two posessions for the second half and only rushed 3 times in the second half.

I assume we could do better than that. Also, it looks like the ends and backs were open on short and medium depth routes. Cassel should be able to exploit this. Also, the Jets will have to defend the deep pass to Moss as Cassel showed today.

The return of Faulk will also likely open up the chance of more screen passes to pull people up and open up the deep ball to Moss.

If everyone steps their game up a la 2001, they should win this game.

That is a very good point. We could see a whole team elevation in terms of intensity.

and thank you for someone who actually wants to talk about the game

and the chargers lose!!

As much as I hate to see Brady go down, I am glad that it appears McDaniels will now change his style (which I have always hated). This team IS still good enough to win. The defense I think will be excellent (will give up less than 15 PPG) and it really shouldn't be too tough to score more than that.

im a realist. the pats have a shot at winning some games. but they have no shot at winning the SB without brady. none zip nada bupkis zilch zippo. lets be honest.

The team rallied admirably today and Cassel was just fine

There was a lot to like about our D too. Let's face it, nobody expected Brady to go down, and that includes the team on the field. All things considered I thought it was a great team win.

Good post Mr Biggles

I agree. The only good thing to come out of this is that we will be able to return to smashmouth 2001, 2003 style football.

Who said everything's just fine? Brady's hurt, we don't know for how long, so what's your suggestion? That we whine and wail about it maybe all season long? What happened to Brady sukced and it basically bummed me out and prevented me from enjoying the game, but you have to just move on. Either move on or throw up your hands and say "screw the season". Seeing as I'm not about to say that, I'll take it one game at a time, and for real this year. I'm not going to start moaning about the SB already. Gawd.
