“He did tell us that he had stress on the bone, and that’s why he wore a [protective] boot for a day – one day,” Brady Sr. said

No, no. Doesn't he read this board? If so, he'd know that the protective boot was planted in Brady's locker as part of a vast, diabolical plot to lure the Herald into publishing misinformation.

With that sort of strict confidence, I'm sure Brady shares every little injury detail with his old man ...

I'm sure he gets alot of questions about his son; but if your son was tom brady you'd also be happy to talk about him. Its not like he's spewing negative stuff or gossip (like the lohan dad).

While we're at it, how does one get to the point where they are "champing" at the bit?

Um, by using the proper terminology for being "rarin' to go"? Champing, while oft overlooked, is the proper word for the phrase. Chomping is like saying "All the sudden"...

"He also believes that “if there was a broken bone in his foot, they wouldn’t have him doing agility drills.”

Stupid old geezer, based on what...common sense???

This really sounds more and more like what we heard about the situation at the time - some camp ox lands on his foot, it hurts, they send him for a quick MRI that at first glance looks like it might hint at a slight crack or stress fracture but on further evaluation by experts in such matters they determine it's just a deep (though still somewhat painful and a little slow to heal if you've had 'em) bone bruise.
