It depends. On the one hand, I would take Welker over Harvin because he's a proven commodity in New England's offense. On the other hand, Harvin turns twenty-five in May while Welker turns thirty-one in the same month. I reckon it's about bang for your buck. Who gives you the most for your spending dollars?

As one person put it about Harvin, he considers himself a "special" player and executives around the league have fed that attitude by telling people close to him how difficult it is to cover Harvin.

While Harvin has never reached 1,000 yards receiving or exceeded six receiving touchdowns in a season, he's a unique player with great quickness and speed. He's one of the league's best run-after-the-catch players (he averaged 8.9 yards after the catch last season) and has scored five touchdowns on kickoff returns in his four seasons. He has also been effectively used as a running back. In four seasons, he has carried the ball 107 times for 683 yards and four touchdowns.

As rumors of Harvin being on the trade block have surfaced this offseason, numerous teams have been linked to him, including New England and San Francisco.

Harvin is a head case with migraine issues and is generally injury prone so asking for CJ like money is beyond stupidity.

So on that alone, despite his supposed demands being overly high too, I'd have Welker in this case.

This little tidbit tells me Harvin could never be a Pat. I laugh every time a Pats fan rolls out the " bring Harvin in " rant.

i am heavily inclined to agree--very heavily
