Horrendous. I get that you're upset, but this is ludicrous. I saw things tonigh that I would've done differently - go for it on the 35 or wherever - but playcalling is overrated. Make the plays.

This coaching staff routinely makes aggressive, innovative, gutsy calls - more often than most teams, going for it on 4th down being the best example - to the point that it's a hallmark of the Patriots generally.

What a crazy point you're hitching your wagon to. I'm going to chalk it up to frustration and call it a night.

This is the same Gaffney that couldn't even stick with the Dolphins and finished the year with 4 receptions. I was a big fan last offseason based on his previous season with the Redskins, but he's done.
patsfan-1982 and Spergon Wynn like this.

By position:

QB: Brady needs to calm down in big games. He's gone from super-clutch to choking. As for personnel -- how soon will Mallett move on? Do we need another guy?

RB: We're loaded. Never mind the FB experiments.

TE: We're loaded. And by the way, Gronk is a tall guy who can go up and get the ball.

WR: To my tastes, that's a discussion for another thread.

OT: I suspect Vollmer will move on for LT money elsewhere. If so, we need help.

OG/C: We're in pretty good shape. Of course, upgrades are possible.

DT: We could use a second guy who has both stoutness AND rushing ability.

DE: We have Ninkovich, Jones, and a lot of question marks. An upgrade is easy to imagine, but mainly for a backup/rotation player, so I'm not calling for much investment there.

LB: We could use a speed/cover guy to rotate into the mix -- a light LB or big S.

S: After McCourty, we have nobody who's proven to be more than "meh".

CB: I'm guessing Talib stays and Arrington moves on. That leaves us with two injury-prone bigger CBs, one short second-year player, and some ST/JAG types. Not enough.

K/P/LS: It looked like a lot of snaps were off-target this year.

ST cover guys: We're fine.

Sorting out Pats' offseason priorities - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston Rodak makes good points, except that he's discounting the possibility Vollmer could leave for LT money from another team.

I would like to sign the best miracle healer in the world to get Gronk, Jones, Edelman and Talib healthy for the playoff games.
