He says this because his team beat his demigod. How can he explain how Flacco beat Manning?

Define Echelon.
If he is a top16 QB, isn't he in the upper echelon? Or even top 10 if there is a mid level echelon.

Flacco is not bad -- he's gotten better over the last two years.
But I wouldn't use the term Elite or Top 5 on him.

Here's who I would take over him if I was building a team for the next 3 years:

Better than Flacco right now, and expect to continue to be:
Brady
Rodgers
Brees
Matt Ryan

Probably better than Flacco for the next 3 years :
Luck
RG3
Kaepernick
Russel Wilson

Tossup between Flacco and these guys:
Cam Newton
Stafford
Peyton Manning (at risk of aging quickly)
Ben Roethlisberger (at risk of continued dumbness)

is flacco a top 10 QB in your eyes? I think he is right on the edge

Yes, "attempt" but failing is possible. Here are two example sentences. The Ravens attempted to win in Jan. 2012. Ray Lewis attempted to make people forget the double murder.
It's the Carson Palmer rule.

Ok, it's just my take. But here are my thoughts on QB tiers, in no particular order within the tiers:

Tier One (Elite)
Brady
Rodgers
Manning
Brees

Tier Two (Very good/Sub-elite)
Roethlisberger
RG3
Kaepernick
Stafford
Wilson
Ryan
Newton

Tier Three (Good)
Luck
Romo
Schaub
Cutler
Rivers

Tier Four (Average)
Dalton
Flacco
Palmer
Tannehill
Fitzpatrick
Vick
E. Manning
Bradford
Cassell
Freeman

Tier Five (Not Good)
Sanchez
Weeden
Locker
Ponder
Skelton
Gabbert

So, maybe you COULD move Flacco into the next tier, but three weeks ago, most people would have agree that he wasn't a top 15 QB. But what 22 NFL QBs are below Flacco for him to be a Top 10? And Top 10 isn't elite. Top 5 is elite, so who among RG3, Kaepernick, Stafford, Big Ben, Wilson, Ryan, or Newton would you wanna replace with Joe Flacco?

“On a day when they could have had impact players David Terrell or Koren Robinson..they took Georgia defensive tackle Richard Seymour, who had 1 sacks last season in the pass-happy SEC and is too tall to play tackle at 6-6 and too slow to play defensive end. This genius move was followed by trading out of a spot where they could have gotten the last decent receiver in Robert Ferguson and settled for tackle Matt Light, who will not help any time soon.”

3. He has 1.76 TD to INT ratio.
4. He has 108 INT and 43 fumbles totaling 151 TO's in 127 games.

It must be that nothing says team leader like motorcycle accidents, rape accusations.

Please don't let your response be SB titles because you left Eli off your list and he has won 2 SB against a 16-0 and 12-4 Patriots team. Ben won against an 11-5 Seahawks and 8-8 Cardinals team.
Wow, I thought he was much better than those numbers show. 151 TO's in 127 games ?!? Just, wow!

RG3 and KAP may not be around long with their style of play, or may be hurt a lot like Vick. I think Flacco is up a tier and if he plays well and wins this week he could be moved to very good

Difficult for me to rank the QB's individually, but the guys I would all rank ahead of Flacco are Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Peyton, Ryan, Big Ben, RGIII, Luck, Newton, Eli, Wilson, Stafford, Romo, Cutler, and Kaepernick. Now you're in the Rivers/Vick/Schaub/Dalton/Freeman group and Flacco is somewhere in there. Not exactly upper echelon.
