Former Patriots RB Kevin Faulk Elected To College Football Hall of Fame

🕑 Read Time: 2 minutes

Prior to becoming a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, running back Kevin Faulk first made a name for himself during his successful run at Lousiana State University where he became the football program’s all-time leading rusher.

To honor his collegiate career, he was formally announced as a member of the College Football Hall of Fames 2022 class alongside 17 other players and three coaches.

“All praise goes to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” Faulk said in a press release from LSU. “This is an honor that wouldn’t be possible without my great teammates, coaches, and everyone who helped me along the way. It’s a tremendous honor, but for me, it was a team effort. I’m so humbled and honored to be included among the great list of players and coaches in the Hall of Fame Class for 2022.”

During his time at LSU, Faulk set school records for rushing yards (4,577), rushing touchdowns (46), all-purpose yards (6,833), and 100-yard rushing games (22) that still stand today. In addition, Faulk still holds the all-time SEC record with 6,833 all-purpose yards.

Following college, Faulk was drafted in the second round by the Patriots in the 1999 NFL Draft and went on to build a reputation as a “swiss army knife” on the field as said by Robert Kraft due to his versatility to play multiple roles for the team on offense and special teams over his 13 pro seasons.

Faulk was a member of three Super Bowl-winning teams in New England and was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2016.

Since 2018, Faulk has returned to his alma mater LSU as the Director of Player Development (2018-2019) and running backs coach (2020-2021). In 2019, he helped the program win a national championship under former head coach Ed Orgeron.

According to the press release, The 2022 College Football Hall of Fame Class will be inducted during the 64th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on December 6th, 2022.

Congrats Kevin!
