FOOTBALL NOTES (3/2) — According to a report in the Cleveland Beacon Journal this morning, linebacker Tedy Bruschi visited the Browns yesterday. The media in Cleveland seems to feel he’d be a good fit adding depth to their current linebacking core of Jamir Miller, Wali Rainer and Rahim Abdullah..

The Browns are concerned about tackle Orlando Brown’s injured right eye, and have increased their search for free-agent help at offensive tackle. It had been rumored that Bruce Armstrong was a strong candidate to play for the Browns, but it appears that he may have some competition. Cleveland is bringing in Roman Oben from the Giants for a visit today, and are also eying Washington’s Andy Heck, Kansas City’s Glenn Parker, Arizona’s Jon Clark and James Dexter, Jacksonville’s Steve Ingram, Oakland’s Darryl Ashmore, Baltimore’s James Atkins, and San Francisco’s Jeff Buckey. But many are part-timers who have been used at tackle or guard.

Head coach Chris Palmer is reportedly still interested in talking to Armstrong however.

OTHER NOTES

In a “Where is he now?” update, the Browns released former Patriot Scott Rehberg. Rehberg, who took over at right tackle in the Browns’ finale, was let go for the team yesterday.

Tom Donahoe, who the team interviewed during the off season about a possible personnel position, had said that he was simply going to “take a year off.” It was reported this morning in the Miami Herald that he will be a Dolphins consultant throughout the remainder of free agency and the draft.
