Following the milestone of 400 Touchdown passes on Sunday versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tom Brady went on WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan morning show for his weekly Monday morning appearance.

When asked what record he admires and respects the most Brady shared a mark he knows he will never able to achieve, the 297 consecutive starts of former Green Bay Packer legend and soon-to-be Hall of Famer Brett Favre.

“I think the thing that probably means the most would be just consecutive starts, “Because I think that’s something that is a reflection of the commitment that you make. I think that’s a pretty amazing thing. Like what Brett Favre’s been able to do, what Peyton did over his career. Just being available to your team. I mean, you’re no help to your team if you’re on the sideline. To be available to play and to be durable, consistent, that’s what I focus on.”

Brady went on to tell Dennis and Callahan, “Just being available to your team…I mean, you’re no help to your team if you’re on the sideline. To be available to play and to be durable, consistent, that’s what I focus on.”

For many who have followed Brady throughout his career the answer comes as no surprise for a player seen as always putting the team above the individual. If it wasn’t for a Bernard Pollard hit in the first game of the 2008 season that blew out his ACL, his previous streak of 128 consecutive starts might overtaken Favre. Currently his new streak sits at 98 straight (110 counting playoff games) heading into the upcoming bye week.
