New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will always be known as a football coach first, but it is well documented that one of his second loves is studying world history.
In a new documentary produced by the Rhode Island based World War II Foundation entitled “D-Day Over Normandy”, Belichick plays a prominent role as the films narrator while also explaining his own personal connection to the United States Navy through his father Steve’s service time in the war and later as football head coach at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
The trailer also contains ariel footage from the beaches of Normandy, France captured with drones over the modern day landscape.
The full film is expected to be aired on PBS affilates around the county in the spring.
