Trent Dilfer's odd analysis ... and more

Today Trent Dilfer stated there is no better Offensive Coordinator in the NFL than Greg Olson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  I’m not even going to bother wasting my time listing the OC’s that are better than Olson.  To me what is really baffling is Dilfer.  There are times when he can make these remarkably astute observations, filled with brilliant commentary that puts nearly every other NFL analyst to shame.  Then, a few days later he’ll follow it up with this kind of opinion.  The inconsistency in the quality of his thoughts is both baffling and frustrating.  I can’t help but wonder if concussions suffered while he was a player has something to do it, or if his producers are dictating that he take an unconventional side in order to create a debate.

“Epic” is a word that has recently become so overused on the internet that I have a tendency to ignore whatever it is being linked to or its author.  In this case I am going to make an exception and use it myself; check out this epic failure by a writer to promote her book after a blogger gave it a two star review.  If you want to skip to the good part, simply scroll down to the comment section.  Big Al's Books and Pals: The Greek Seaman by Jacqueline Howett.

Old people at weddings used to poke me and say ‘you’re next’, so I started doing them same thing to them at funerals.

Today somebody said something about how Barry Bonds may be the home run king, but to him Hank Aaron was the real holder of that title.  Funny, I’ve always felt something similar; just substitute Aaron for Bonds and Ruth for Aaron.

Congratulation to the Celtics’ Ray Allen, who tonight passed Clyde Drexler for 24th place in scoring in NBA history with 22,196 points … and counting.

If you are one of those interested in the legal intricacies of the NFL’s owners versus players, here is an 18-page Supplemental Declaration in the Brady v NFL lawsuit.
