Have you ever played any sport when it's colder? Your muscles tense up and it's harder to generate as much power as you would on warm weather. That's why pitchers generally throw with less velocity when the weather is cold. Even if there's no wind, it sure as hell would affect Peyton.
won't the thin air neutralize that a bit?

This game is very simple of what it comes down to...
When Ray Rice rushes for over 100 Yards, the Ravens rarely lose, when Rice is contained they usually lose.
It will be the Ray Rice show on Saturday.
But won't they bench him because he fumbled last week? ...

LOL....No I doubt it,They don't exactly have Montana at QB to be able to do that,Rice is their biggest weapon and has been for quite some time now.
I also see the Ravens trying to slow down that solid Broncos pass rush by bringing Rice out on the screen pass a few times during the game, those plays when they are productive, totally ruins defensive schemes and game plans like the Pats did more often during the glory years when Faulk was the main guy in those plays.

But this switch is a matter of necessity. The most-lasting residual effect from Manning’s neck surgeries has been the nerve regeneration in the grip of his right (throwing) hand. He simply does not grip the football as well as he once did.
“I certainly don’t think I would have had to wear the glove had I not been injured last year,” Manning said. “It’s part of my injury, some things that I’ve had to adjust. I’m in a different body. Some things are different for me.”

I think Manning will have gotten used to playing outdoors, so I don't think the cold will get to him. We'll see!
Not good karma to hope for injuries, but I guess you could hope for double quadruple overtime so they're so emotionally and physically drained they can't play the pats next week...
Manning dealt with nerve damage and weakness in his right arm after the surgery, and the glove helps improve his grip on the ball, something that becomes more challenging in frigid temperatures.
"I certainly don't think I would have had to wear the glove if I hadn't been injured last year. It is part of my injury, and one of the things I've had to adjust," Manning said Tuesday. "
SO not really in his head, but apparently a genuine factor.

I've actually played quite a few football games in below freezing temps and you definitely can't throw a deep ball as effectively but I never found throws under 30 yards to be as effected. My point is twofold: the cold affects both QB's but wind will impact a QB more that doesn't drive or power the ball.
I know it wasn't a playoff game, but didn't Manning lead a 4th quarter comeback in a Denver snowstorm in 2002? Weather looked pretty bad as I remember it. I'd feel better about a wind game rather than just cold.
I believe you're correct....but THAT was 2002......The "Elder" Peyton is going to have trouble in that kind of cold I would imagine
