I like this strategy, with a few runs directly at Bruce Irvin for balance.

That's why I think that Tony Gonzalez needs to be a central part of the Falcons' game plan this weekend. Funnel the passing offense through him, force those safeties to come up, and THEN attack downfield in the passing game to whomever Sherman isn't covering (most likely White). Do that, and they should be able to win. But if they do what I think they are going to do, and center the passing attack around both WR's, they play into Seattle's hands on defense.

That is a lot to ask of any defense to be on the field that long to come up with stop after stop after stop.
I seriously doubt the Falcons will give the Hawks that much time of possession. I doubt that will allow the Hawks to gain another lofty rushing total. And while I agree Seattle isn't some long shot to win, it's hilarious to see them being given such a high chance of winning. I suspect the Falcons will in fact prove that wrong in 6 days.
And the Skins defense still came up with a lot of crucial stops. The Lynch fumble and sacking Wilson to drop them out of FG range immediately come to mind. Make no mistake, the Redskins D played well enough to handily beat the Seahawks. If Kirk Cousins comes in after Griffin injured his knee in the first half, I bet the Seahawks would be out of the playoffs right now, and this whole ridiculous thread would never have been started.

Teams like the Patriots, Steelers, Giants, etc. are more entitled to talk a bit of trash, IMO, not because of the SB's that each team won over a decade ago, but because they're all in the playoffs more often than not, and they win playoff games when they get there. The are a .500 team through three seasons with Pete Carroll as coach, and that's with the NFC West being the worst division in the NFL for the bulk of his tenure. Until they sustain this year's success for a couple of seasons, they'll be yet another new arrival that may or may not last. There are multiple teams like that every season, and they're all just as convinced that their team has a limitless ceiling as you are. The Chargers used to see themselves in pretty much the same way.
That's fair, but for the record, I don't feel that they have a limitless ceiling. I've been a Seahawk fan long enough to be skeptical of any "dynasty" (or even close) taking place until it actually does. Early last decade, the Hawks were in the Playoffs many times (being division champs of a weak division), with one superbowl appearance. That's about the extent of their success.

^This. Seahawks are a good team, but all this bed-wetting about them being the "team to beat" in the NFC is way over the top. Seattle's 24 unanswered points were in large part due to the fact that the Redskin's couldn't answer as long as a crippled RGIII was still in the game.

And please, stop saying that Seattle has beaten SF, NE and GB so they're totally on par with those teams. They did not beat GB. They lost, however they were gifted the game by . . . you know the rest.

Another thing that I don't understand is this idea that Sherman and co. are just going to shut down Roddy White and Julio Jones. As if somehow the Seattle defense just makes everybody cringe in fear. Excuse me? White and Jones are a WR duo that is as good as any in the league. Sherman and co. are going to have their hands full with those guys.

Every season the slate is wiped clean and nobody on the field gives a crap about what you did the year before. If some guy on the 49ers defense acted like Richard Sherman, I don't think that makes it more right just because they have multiple championships. That guy probably wasn't even born yet when they won those championships.
I see it differently. I want my team to have an attitude and swagger but I don't want guys who have accomplished nothing talking about how great they are. If Wilfork, Brady, Mankins want to talk some sh.t i am fine with that, even though i know they won't, however Chandler Jones, Dennard, and Hightower need to keep their pieholes shut until they have championships to back it up with.

How's that Eagles DYNASTY doing these days?

I expect whoever Sherman is covering to be slowed down one on one. The guy is a talented cornerback, no doubt. With Revis out, he's possibly the best in the league. On the other side, White or Jones will have constant safety help over the top. The Falcons can attack this by maintaining a consistent running game and centering the gameplan around the TE.

Patrick P. - AZ = best in the league.

Their D is dominant.
I think the only team that can beat them is the Pats and Brady with his A game.

For you bettors out there all the favorites won this weekend.Take all the underdogs next weekend there will be at least two upsets.
AP is better and losing Clemons is a major blow to that defense.

A rookie Qb has never started a SB. There is a reason for that.

In addition, Pete Carroll is worst remaining coach in the playoffs.
