"Partial tear of ACL" is essentially no different from "ACL is completely shredded" when it comes to healing v. surgery for a football player in the modern times, so he's looking at 6-12 months recovery based on that alone. A partial PCL tear can often be healed with rest and rehab, but a full tear could actually put this kid's long-term prospects in some jeopardy.

Basically, there's no credible source that's said that, and now everyone's trying to throw everyone else under the bus, because no source wants to admit that it published a story based on absolutely nothing. Great case study in how worthless 95% of the media is nowadays.
A point worth repeating over and over and over and..........

Oh, it gets even better. More rumors down here are saying that RG3 actually sprained his ACL in the initial injury against the Ravens but they kept it quiet (Robert's idea).
It is an absolute ****storm down here.

That was my fear. If they have been playing him on a damaged ACL, and either refused to say it or misdiagnosed him, then that would compound the problem. However, we do need to remember he played 2 full games and his running, while limited, was still ok.
Really, from what I saw, the real damage was done during the second touchdown where he caught up his knee underneath him the wrong way while falling down on the sideline. I think this was a new injury which could have happened with or without the previous one. It was that awkward fall that they didn't pay enough attention to and possibly thought he just aggravated his injury when in reality he might have torn something else.
As far as the final one, that could have happened while he was bending over to pick up his helmet on the sidelines.
Re: How long do you think RG3 will last in the NFL?
Read a story last night that said that the LCL and ACL are definitely torn, they just can't quantify the extent of the damage based on the latest MRI because of the 2009 surgery which resulted in two screws and a rubber band as part of that reconstruction... He's seeing Andrews to get a T3 MRI (as opposed to the standard 1.5T) because the resolution is superior. If that doesn't settle it they may have to do an exploratory scoping of the knee and determine a course of action from there. Then the decision becomes do you just continue the procedure or do you back off and wait for the swelling to abate.
He had an MRI 4 weeks ago that reportedly showed no structural damage anywhere in that knee. Yet they somehow seem hung up at the moment on deciphering when/how any new damage occurred.
I was wondering if Shanny still keeps a lie detector in his office. They should all have to undergo an exam...
Re: How long do you think RG3 will last in the NFL?
Although nothing has been confirmed, you have to think there is ACL damage at this point. I had heard PCL as well earlier and that would obviously be absolutely devastating but I've not heard it since. Who knows if anyone will ever know the real truth. Shanahan is obviously of the BB None of Your Damn Business School. Personally, I don't think he's as good at it as BB. Listening to his pressers he just screams LIAR, LIAR PANTS ON FIRE, but that's probably just my BB bias coming through.
I think it is also obvious the initial injury was a little more than a grade 1 LCL sprain. He was supposed to be getting better and better but he just got worse and worse.

Depends on how the offseason goes but as of today the Cowboys would be my pick to win the NFCE. They finished ahead of NYG this year and head to head looked superior (SHOULD have swept them). Plus Dallas was 0-2 against the skins while NYG was 1-1, so a no RG3 scenario would in theory favor Dallas more, and it's been rumored that the Giants may need to cut ties with Tuck and others.

I don't know. To me he looked pretty much the same as he was for the past couple of weeks until this happened:
I still think this did all the damage and the way he went down there it's something that I think could create a tear whether he was previously injured or not. He started getting worse after this play.
