Better yet, Sanchez may play just well enough to keep his job yet another week. The Jets may even beat Jacksonville. Then they'll be 6-7 and start talking playoffs again. Rex will start to get his swagger back. He'll think the team is better than it is. They have @2-10 Jacksonville, @4-8 Tennessee, 4-8 San Diego, @5-7 Buffalo left. They could end up 7-9, quite possibly 8-8, possibly even 9-7. Just good enough to keep them thinking they're competitive, and give the current team another chance. Tanny will blow their draft picks, Rex will brag that they were really closer than people thought to being a playoff team this year, and the circus tour will continue.
God forbid that Woody fires Rex and Tanny, scraps the team, and gets a real coach and GM.
I hope this exact scenario plays out. Best thing possible for the Pats.

I think Rex is an excellent coach, per se, but to be the executive in charge of the entire operation is not his forte. It makes me appreciate how much Bill does, how large his role is, and how well he does it.
You can shoot your mouth off as a coach but not as an executive. Rex has to grow up to be an executive.
...while Tannenbaum, the designated cap wizard, engineered Sanchez's can't-cut-him contract. Quite the pair, eh?
It's beautiful. And the best part is this:
Tebow has been scapegoated as the problem. That means that, if Woody buys it, Tebow will be gone, but Sanchez, Ryan and Tannenbaum would be back. We could have another full year of this, because anyone who thinks Tebow is the problem is a fool.
This is a Jets team that lost their last 3 last year, and 5 of their last 8, and Tebow was nowhere to be found at that time. It's a team that's now 5-10 in its last 10 games and who's only win against a winning team in the 2011-2012 seasons was against the Colts earlier this season (During that time, they're 1-10 against teams with winning records).

Been hitting the sauce a little early today, Mo? Tebow didn't beat the Jets in the playoffs. As a matter of fact, the Jets didn't qualify in 2011.
Spending too much time on the Landing Strip. Kills brain cells same as alcohol. But it was the loss in mid November in the midst of Tebow mania that planted the little seed that failed to sprout in a swamp.
Between that and the Manning flirtation it was almost as if even then they were looking for any alternative. Just can't admit it on the heels of that idiotic contract.
