Default NFLN: Replacement ref admits wrong call

Interesting interview with the replacement refs, they admittedly were clueless about some of the rules. I know we've beaten this drum a bit much but I thought it was interesting to hear there side of things.

Check it out...

That's very interesting.. especially the parts about no interference on hail mary's, and the philosophy vs. rule stuff.

A philosophy not to be applied so blatantly I'm sure.

This comment was alarming "I learned a rule by screwing up the rule." lol wtf

and this "I'd probably call interception." yeah me 2

I'm sure the league was thrilled about this, given their released statement on the play.

He should fill in the commissioner that told us all that it was the right call.

Yeah, a guy gets thrown out of the lingerie league and gets a job in the NFL.

That'd be like getting canned from my job and given a job as a senator.

It wasn't the replacement refs fault, so much as it was the owner's fault. If the owners want to to battle with the refs union, they need to have sensible backup plan. Instead, they seemed to think they could just bring in anyone to referee the games, but the reality is that so many of us are really quite savvy, so we demand a high level of expertise from the refs. I think the owner's attitude was insulting to the fans (as well as to the official refs).
