A master plan indeed! Trick everybody into thinking that the organization is a disheveled dump of disorderly, dastardly delinquents who are known more for their egos, snacks and illegitimate children than for talent or winning.... and after you've done that for a few decades and nobody's taking you seriously.... SNEAK UP AND WIN THE SUPERBOWL!!

I tell you nobody will see that coming!

What the hell is "strategery"? Does it have something to do with fondling/smelling feet while smoking dope, forgetting the names of your illegitimate kids, and reaching for a goddamn snack?

The plan continues to unfold this morning, under the radar of NFL insiders and commentators:

Quinton Couples, having recently graduated from that character-building program at the University of North Carolina, and having been awarded a starting position before taking the field at a Jests practice, now has several million dollars in his bank account (to add to what he was paid at UNC).

And, another piece of the puzzle, Kenrick ("We couldn't find the 'd'") Ellis has reached a plea agreement that will allow him to stay in the United States and eventually take his starting position on the D Line next to Couples.

This is part of the master plan to create a competitive, highly professional environment masked as a circus, as part of Rex's sneak-up-on-the-super-bowl strategery (SUOTSBS).

Bob Kraft's Revival and Conversion Tent is a very big tent and welcomes all sinners, even Jets fans.

Come on in, walk down the aisle, approach the altar, raise your arms to the statue of Tom Brady, confess your sins, accept Bill Belichick as your personal savior and be redeemed! It's not too late to be Pats-tized in the Charles River and emerge to a new life of Salvation as a Fan of The New England Patriots.

Glory be and Hallelujah!

His mother wanted to name him Ken. His father wanted to name him Rick. They couldn't agree, so they just combined them.

That part seems to be working fine.

That's the part that hasn't worked out so well.

Watching Tebow work his magic on the Jets locker room, and assuming it's only a matter of time before he does the same on the Jets fanbase, it becomes clear that the real problem isnt Tebow vs. Sanchez. It's what comes after.

Sanchez is what he is. If he has buried within him the makings of a bona fide NFL starting QB, then Tebow's presence won't derail him. If he's truly no more than he's shown so far, then he's no great loss.

But then you find yourself with Tebow. And Tebow is a sticky problem. A massively popular national figure with true, magnetic leadership talent at the most important position on the field, who can actually inspire his team to some wins...but who just isn't a good quarterback.

John Elway pulled off a brilliant trick, managing to jettison the Tebow albatross with a signing nobody could argue with. But there isn't another Peyton Manning out there. The next team that has to dump Tebow had better get creative.
