Default Sources: Saints' GM could eavesdrop on opposing coaches during home games

Sources: New Orleans Saints' Mickey Loomis could eavesdrop on opposing coaches during home games - ESPN

This could be bad for them. Really bad.

We know from researching the reaction to spygate that this stuff has been happening since the beginning of the NFL. I feel sorry for the Saints at this point.

The worst part of this is now we have to hear about Spygate all over the news again.

Watching on ESPN now; "could be in violation of state and federal laws." Yikes.

And of course they're showing "Spygate" as the closest comparison; they showed the video the Pats recorded in 2007, of opposing coaches' signals, and that seems laughably small-time compared to this.

It is but the problem is they have proof that we did it, they'll never have actual video evidence of the Saints doing it.

Can we call this Spygate and come up with a new name that actually fits what the Pats were doing way back when?

While Spygate will certainly be brought up quite a bit, I think this makes us look good to be honest. All we did was steal hand signals, if loomis did what he is accused of, he would have been able to hear actual play-calls in real time. That makes Spygate look like a joke in comparison. The Saints are in knee deep in **** right now and I can't say I'm not enjoying the show.

Even if these allegations are proven true, I can still see the Jets fans on Jets Insider saying Spygate is far worse... just because.

All the Saints did was tap into private coaches communications and broke state laws. The Pats videotaped something that 60,000 fans in the stadium could see with their own eyes. Clearly the Pats did something worse.

ESPN "analyists" are beating them to it. Polian says he sees no way Loomis could understand the coaches' terminology and translate it into action, and Schlereth actually said it's not like knowing hand signals, where know exactly what play is being called. Honestly, they sound like Patriots fans talking about "Spygate." Odd to me that they're summarily dismissing this -- in part, I think, because the saints were not very successful in the time period involved.
